And when I came back, I still have the passport. I I did not get some of my Eastern Shore friends because I was not allowed to be there Friday. I only did one day, so I’m going to do Brook Learman when I get back. I got to get Julie Giordano on, Republican county executive from Comico County. So I have some people I got to get on. But get down there and I did the usual suspects, like these these parties, tourism, you know, big white fur, like seeing the same people. ULI, a lot of people we know in common in the business space, a lot of the accelerant and commex people, and Bill Ko’s down there. We’re having a good time. So I’m walking down a coastal highway, and my phone goes off, and I look down. It’s my cousin from Delaware. There you go. My Newark, Delaware cousins of my mother’s or sister. Sure, sure. They got dogs, they got cats, they got grandkids. I mean, they’re they’re in their 60s now. They’re semi retired, and I’m like, what are you doing down here? He’s like, oh, I bought this place like eight years ago. I’m like, hold on, you’re from Delaware, you bought in Maryland, mind you buy in Delaware. He’s like, because I didn’t have $3 million, man. Like, so he said to me, yeah, man, you know, we came down here, we just wanted to be near the beach, and they live in Middletown, so it’s a lot easier for them to get the Rehoboth or look like anywhere up there, I don’t understand the tax. He’s like, “We and his wife, who’s my cousin for 42 years, they went to the last Colts game I ever went to with me and my pop as boyfriend and girlfriend, and they’ve been married since 1989 or whatever. But I mean, they’ve got kids and grandkid, like all of that. The kid’s a bass player. He loves Rush. It’s awesome. He’s my cousin. So anyway, I said to him, I’m like, why did you buy an Ocean City? Right. And he’s like, well, you know, we we the only place we could afford. We couldn’t afford. We we didn’t have 3 million. And and Diana, my cousin, said I wanted to be 1000 feet from the beach, and that wasn’t going to happen in Delaware for anything under a couple million dollars. That’s right. We bought this place. I think they they said in the low threes. It’s now worth in the sixes. And I’m thinking my wife and I should have done that in 2018. Sold off the whole farm, and we would have been in far better shape than anything that we would have touched in Baltimore. Let alone whatever taxes they’re paying. They’re very happy. They drive down all the time. He does his hunting and his fishing and his boating and his you know brings his reel and he does all of that stuff. She goes out on the beach. The kids love it. The grandkids love it. The cousins. Everybody loves it. It’s a flood. They don’t rent it. Although I can stay when I want for Ocean’s Calling. I didn’t even know he had it. Right, right. But like

It was different when I needed to be here five days a week, and when my wife needed to report to Hunt Valley or downtown. Like there is a, I’m moving into a different point in my life, and I’m trying to understand that, and that’s why somebody like you comes along. life and you only have Saturday and Sunday, it it would it most of my life it sounded like the biggest pain in the ass in the world to me to think about going down there Thursday or Friday and coming back Sunday or Monday, and I didn’t have three kids, two dogs. Like I just, I wouldn’t invest in that. I would just go down there and pay for a week twice a year and go to Nags Head for a week or go to Tampa. Like I would just do something different. But having a place, you have to love it. And they told me like we could have gotten a cheaper place down in the downtown area. Too much where you are in Ocean City, and the amount of noise, and the amount of height, the amount of like all of that matters. But they have found something they love, and as people, and I love them and their family, and I’m thinking this is really nice what they’ve done, and they’ve done it in Maryland, they’ve done in Ocean City.
