used to come to Orioles games aren’t coming.

It’s kinda like a David Letterman act. There are at LEAST a Top 10 list of reasons…

Maybe it’s because of the the owner?

Maybe it’s because of the years of losing?

Maybe it’s because MASN is sucking money from our wallets?

Maybe it’s easier to enjoy what we’re already paying for and just watch the games on TV in HD? (Even if the cheeseball crew who calls the games like state-run TV are almost unwatchable or unlistenable. Maybe that’s part of the plan? If Jim Hunter is so bad and the radio broadcasts of Joe Angel and Fred Manfra are somnambulant, we’ll all rush back to the ballpark?)

Maybe it simply costs too much money to come to the games?

8

Maybe people are vehemently offended by a “day of game” surcharge?

Maybe the markups and ripoffs on virtually every item inside the stadium is an issue?

Maybe people don’t want to pay to park?

Maybe the students aren’t coming because of the Friday night “bait and switch” tactics that Drew Forrester chronicled here and here?

Maybe it’s because people have kids who don’t care or kids who have school the next morning?

Maybe kids are playing soccer or football at their schools in September?

Maybe it’s because no one in The Warehouse or on the field has truly vested in the community and the fans here understand that?

8

But beating the fans up for NOT coming is not the answer.

Next Thursday you’ll get more answers. Camden Yards will be packed – for one night at least. But will they be coming back for the rest of September?

We’ll see…

That’s your job, Adam Jones and the men who are profiting and getting wealthy off of a public trust.

It’s your job to make me want to be a paying customer.

It’s not our obligation as a community to further pad your pockets.

But that doesn’t mean we don’t want to see you win.
