of the defense but Chuck Pagano’s group managed to force the re-emergence of the dearly departed Steven Hauschka yesterday, who got his own purple revenge in being the eventual difference maker in the margin of defeat in nailing every field goal in the Seahawks win.

However tight and strong the Ravens defense was through the first 55 minutes of yesterday’s game, it’s hard to wash away the bitter taste of the final defensive effort that saw Ray Lewis and Paul Kruger – amongst many others – flailing and getting pushed backwards as the Seahawks offensive line willed their running back Marshawn Lynch to the first down markers on every push when it really mattered.

Needless to say, it was not the finest hour for the Ravens defense.

Are Joe Flacco and Cam Cameron at odds?

We’ll probably never know the truth but the body language and the output need to come under fire as the Ravens continue to under produce with stats, points and productivity toward first downs.

It’s fine to say the Ravens didn’t get a lot of offensive touches yesterday in Seattle but when Flacco is changing plays at the line of scrimmage and throwing the ball 52 times in the same game when Ray Rice has just five carries, fans should be raising holy hell with Harbaugh, Cam Cameron, Flacco and anyone else associated with such an ugly loss.

The offense is – at best – ordinary when Flacco is hitting on long plays to Anquan Boldin or Torrey Smith (when he actually catches the ball) and at worst, dysfunctional, when the down and distances are unattainable and Flacco is overthrowing receivers regularly.

What is the Ravens’ profile – yes, that’s the gratuitous Brian Billick-ism for this blog – of the offense under Cameron and where does Ray Rice fit in?

Ray Rice had five carries. Someone should have to answer for that and it shouldn’t be Ray Rice and Terrell Suggs talking about it.

Hard questions will be asked by anyone who knows football and Cameron, Flacco, Harbaugh and everyone else should be grilled on such an glaring and obvious issue.

Is this team poorly coached or under-motivated under John Harbaugh?

This Jeckyl and Hyde act on the road is perplexing. Under Harbaugh, the Ravens have generally been outstanding at beating the teams they’re supposed to beat on the road since 2008. This year has been the exception and now that they’ve lost ugly games in three different time zones we’re all wondering what the hell we’ll see when the Ravens arrive in Cleveland, San Diego and Cincinnati later in the year.

Tennessee stinks but the Ravens’ defense couldn’t solve a 6-foot-5 wide receiver and a veteran West Coast quarterback in Matt Hasselbeck.

Jacksonville is abysmal at almost every level and Joe Flacco and Cam Cameron couldn’t get the offense to manage even one first down
