Just 90 minutes after Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh resigned her leadership of our city, we sat down with Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger at Pizza John’s in Essex for the kickoff of the Baltimore Positive movement and podcast series.

We will be examining life, politics and the future of Baltimore from every angle. Law and order. Education. Business leadership. Poverty. Racism. Classism. The future of our country and state as well depends on cities like Baltimore improving.

This is Part 3 of three segments of Episode 1 for our Baltimore Positive podcast with Dutch.

Episode 2 with Goucher pollster Mileah Kromer will be coming this week in three chunky segments on Monday, Wednesday and Friday here on the site and everywhere on social media you can follow Don, Nestor and WNST.

Kromer schools Nestor on the “science of polling” and why they are effective tools to understand in the coming months. You won’t want to miss it!

Our next #BaltimorePositive live event will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th at State Fare in Catonsville with Damian O’Doherty of Center Maryland.

Please subscribe to our podcast here and find it anywhere on your mobile device that you can listen.

These chats will also air at WNST.net and AM 1570 and can be found in the BuyAToyota Audio Vault as well.

What could two Dundalk teachers with 105 years of experience possibly still teach us about science and music?

What could two Dundalk teachers with 105 years of experience possibly still teach us about science and music?

It didn't even seem possible that colleagues Calvin Statham (59 years) and George Scheulen (46 years). who once taught Nestor at Holabird Junior High School in 1979, could still be teaching him about the important things in life beyond chorus and physics all these years later. Two beloved Baltimore County educators continue trying to tame their rambunctious student for the holidays with music and love (and crab cakes) at Costas Inn in Dundalk.

We're all fed up and should be. Congressman Johnny Olszewski joined Nestor to discuss the lack of focus and progress on Capitol Hill and potential solutions for health care, transparency in government and the use of Trump's absurd pardons as a grifting tool.
