After 16 years of serving the Downtown Partnership, Kirby Fowler will be leaving his job as the President there to take over as the new President and C.E.O. of the Maryland Zoo in the spring. We thought it was an ideal time to chat with a civic leader about two very important organizations for our city and hear from another truly downtown voice about the future of our area and its challenges.

In this middle segment of a three-part chat, we’ll cover McKeldin Square and Harborplace, the markets of Baltimore and how to get families back to places like the Inner Harbor and the Maryland Zoo so our region’s attractions can remain vibrant.

We have one more chat with Fowler about his future at the Maryland Zoo. And Nestor put a plug in for his favorite African penguins: Hope and Grace.

This will be a big week ahead for Baltimore Positive and Baltimore County School Superintendent Darryl Williams joined us for a wonderful chat about education and Kirwan and our children at State Fare.

No one is covering Baltimore mayoral race better than we are and we appreciate all of our friends sharing our work this week! (It does not go unnoticed!)
