Gallagher2

As Matthew Gallagher of The Goldseker Foundation points out in the early going of Episode 30 of Baltimore Positive, this was a robust conversation about leadership in our city and the significant changes that need to be made.

Gallagher is not a stranger to anyone who has followed local politics and the trail of Martin O’Malley over the past two decades.

Mohler and Aparicio go through the successes – and current failures – of local politics, policies and the future of Baltimore government with a true expert and insider.

This is the second of three lengthy episodes with Gallagher, Episode 31, which focuses on Gallagher’s  background with Martin O’Malley and the significance of local foundations that fund many important causes and needs in Baltimore and regionally.

We are attempting to release one episode of Baltimore Positive every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and will try to (mostly) adhere to that schedule heading into the late summer and fall.

We are on the final week of vacation from live Baltimore Positive events but will have a full schedule next week for August and beyond with guests Ben Cardin, Johnny Olszewski, Ben Jealous and many others coming to our podcasts and videos. Our next event is on Friday, August 9th at 9am with U.S Senator Chris Van Hollen at State Fare in Catonsville. Come join us for a breakfast conversation with great food and chatter.

Stay cool. Hydrate. Enjoy your summer!

We’ll keep the Baltimore Positive mojo coming with more guests and sponsors coming aboard to support our efforts!

Leivovich: On the swamp and racket of The Big Game and bad government

"It's the best book ever written about the modern National Football League," so says Nestor about Big Game. And that's why we love having its author Mark Leibovich back on when his New England Patriots proudly return to Baltimore for some playoff knockout style football. Now with The Atlantic, the longtime political insider for The New York Times is also heavily immersed in Trumplandia and weighs in on the ongoing Epstein saga and the usual D.C. shenanigans.

Gordy pushes the beat to another Grammy nomination

Two-time Grammy Award winning percussionist and Marylander M.B. Gordy returns from Los Angeles to tell Nestor about the beat of his latest – and fourth – Grammy nomination with "Seven Seasons" in the Classical Compendium category.
Hail, hail Halethorpe! A Honey of a spot to shoot pool, watch the game and taste fresh flavor

Hail, hail Halethorpe! A Honey of a spot to shoot pool, watch the game and taste fresh flavor

This stands as a warning to anyone who invites Nestor by their place for the Maryland Crab Cake Tour: you're an invite and a taste away because he's en route to meet more great local folks who want to promote their business. Owner Soo Mi Kang of Honey's in Halethorpe invited us over and must've known that offering "Crabby Toast" would invoke the legend of Charles Markwood Eckman. Competitive billiards, great food and the game is always on at this old-school joint on the south side.
