Lawrence Stallings

This week we will have a look at the role of hospitals in our region as we spent some time recently in Annapolis chatting with many local leaders about what they need from Governor Hogan and the legislature during the General Assembly session on behalf of the Maryland Hospital Association.

The more we all learn and know about our medical system and how it ties our community together at crucial times, the better.

Our second of a trio of chats from the historic Maryland Inn in Annapolis combined University of Maryland Senior Government Affairs Specialist Susan Lawrence along with Senior VP of Government Affairs Nicole Stallings of the MHA to talk about the role of hospitals locally to serve the needs of the citizens and how the legislature can assist during this General Assembly.

We have one more chat from Annapolis before we launch a full deep dive into the special election on February for the vacated Maryland 7th District Congressional seat in the aftermath of the death of Elijah Cummings. You will hear from candidates Terri Hill, Michael Higginbotham, Kweisi Mfume, Harry Spikes, Jill Carter and Talmadge Branch this week at Baltimore Positive.

Nestor will be making a special announcement during Super Bowl week in Miami regarding our programming this spring and more conversations in advance of the April 28th election for the next mayor of Baltimore.

ALSO: we had a spectacular 100-minute, three-part chat with former Baltimore mayor and Maryland governor Martin O’Malley that you will not want to miss that debuts on Monday, January 27.

Plenty of fresh and relevant conversation coming your way in 2020 as we enter our second year of Baltimore Positive this spring.
