During our quest to learn more about medicine, hospitals, insurance and how COVID-19 is affecting every aspect of our society, we reached to CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield President and C.E.O. Brian Pieninck to lead us through some education about navigating a system that can be daunting for many afflicted by all of the fallout of the pandemic.
We learned a ton from Pieninck about how the medical system is trying to rapidly deal with all of the unprecedented challenges of this crisis for our society. Clearly, a lot has changed and it’s happening very quickly – and crisis management has become the key role for all us during the pandemic.
We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.
