The story of Ted Venetoulis has played out in Baltimore County and throughout this region quite publicly over the past 50 years. The former County Executive and Towson Times publisher has moved downtown – and now a neighbor of Nestor at the Inner Harbor – and is ready to talk about getting our community activated to come back to the city and improve it for the next generation.
This is the second leg of a lengthy three-part conversation with equal parts nostalgia and the pragmatism borne of a life spent in politics and winning and losing battles. But, most importantly, always finding a compromise to get a deal done. In this one, Venetoulis takes a deeper dive into the roots of his political activism from William Donald Schaefer to the C.E. seat in Towson in the 1970s.
We enjoyed every minute of this chat with an East Baltimore legend. Lots of stories we’ve never heard and some that we needed some clarification on after all of these years from Venetoulis.
No one is covering Baltimore mayoral race better than we are and we appreciate all of our friends sharing our work this week! (It does not go unnoticed!)
