We knew that food and food shortages and supply chains were going to be greatly tested at the onset of this pandemic. Now, well into the second month of the lockdown, we’re presenting real stories of the impact and consequences of many factors that our society is facing.
Carmen Del Guercio is the President and C.E.O. of The Maryland Food Bank, where they are second responders in this crisis. The staff’s volunteers and network of community partners – including the food distribution events that serve as an important source of food for many Marylanders – are considered essential, even during Governor Hogan’s stay-at-home order.
We learned a ton about how this food come and goes and whose belly it winds up in to serve our community and feed our people.
Clearly, a lot has changed and it’s happening very quickly – and crisis management has become the key role for all us during the pandemic.
We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

Like all others, we have halted a “live schedule” and will continue to launch our chats as we have them during this crisis. Expect more than less.
Because of the election moving to June 2nd, we will be having more of the mayoral candidates back to Baltimore Positive to discuss all of the current issues and the additional five weeks of virtual campaigning for the hopefuls.
