The fallout of the COVID-19 crisis has created so many unintended consequences around the globe but one facet of medicine we all need that has been greatly affected has been dentistry and anyone with a basic dental exam over the last six weeks.

Charles Doring joins us from the Maryland State Dental Association to discuss all aspects of the profession and how many local dentists gathered their PPE to send to area hospitals in the early phase of the crisis. When can you get your teeth cleaned again? What happens if you have trauma or an emergency? What will dentists need to do to reopen and safely care for patients?

We had a lot of questions. Good thing we can find experts like Doring to answer them!

Clearly, a lot has changed and it’s happening very quickly – and crisis management has become the key role for all us during the pandemic.

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders throughout this pandemic at Baltimore Positive. And we expect to do it at a rapid pace so stick with us and subscribe!

Like all others, we have halted a “live schedule” and will continue to launch our chats as we have them during this crisis. Expect more than less.

Because of the election moving to June 2nd, we will be having more of the mayoral candidates back to Baltimore Positive to discuss all of the current issues and the additional five weeks of virtual campaigning for the hopefuls.

Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.

We were built for this…

Stink. Stank. Stunk. And suddenly the Baltimore Orioles are 3-6 and headed on a familiar course down, and quickly. Back in December, Craig Albernaz said the Orioles were going to “attack the fundamentals,” the little details, the cleaner brand of baseball that this franchise clearly did not play over the weekend in Pittsburgh. It's getting late early for the good start we all expected around here.

Dear Mike Elias: A brand new season and manager means real fresh hope – and nowhere to hide anymore

I would've fired you last May when you fired your manager and then hid for three days. Your "leadership" stinks but I do believe your baseball team can be a playoff contender this summer. But on the heels of last place, at some point the record belongs to you...

Sheinin the light on a new baseball season and the strike zone

Our pal Dave Sheinin covered the whole wide world of sports for The Washington Post for three decades and made his first post-exit interview with Nestor a classic, discussing his best journeys to Jamaica and China with Usain Bolt and a life spent near the pool of Michael Phelps. And then there were all of the World Series games and baseball insider tales.
