We don’t normally endorse candidates but we felt strong enough about the race for Comptroller and its significance in Baltimore that today we are giving our nod to Councilman Bill Henry in his effort to defeat longstanding incumbent Joan Pratt.

We had Henry return for a lengthy chat about local government, the unique power of the Mayor of Baltimore and the future of the city and the $500 million that is spent at City Hall every year. This is a $2 billion decision for the taxpayers over the next four years. Spend some time with Henry and learn his thoughts on the position and the post-COVID challenges all of the elected officials will face this fall and beyond.

Clearly, we are voting this month. And we want you to vote, too!

We have been hearing from many of the prime candidates in the Democratic race for Mayor of Baltimore over the past two weeks as election ballots arrive in the mail. And as graduations and the Preakness are on hold here and spring arrives, we have been asking many educational and university leaders about the impact of COVID-19 and the future of higher education in America.

But there are also other races to be decided this month, including Baltimore City Council President.

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

    PLEASE VOTE!!!

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders throughout this pandemic at Baltimore Positive. And we expect to do it at a rapid pace so stick with us and subscribe!
