Because we haven’t been able to sit down and eat a proper crab cake at Faidley’s at Lexington Market or have some chicken and waffles at State Fare in Catonsville with our guests, we have been doing one longish episode rather than our customary three shorter blocks of conversation.

From vaccines and therapeutics to cybersecurity, the work of the members of the Maryland Tech Council help power all sorts of modern life here locally, especially in collaborations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Marty Rosendale is the C.E.O. of the local coalition that has helped many local businesses pivot to a new way of life and thinking until we find an end to the current crisis here in America.

This was a fascinating conversation about the power and role of technology companies in our state and the industry’s role in growth for local jobs and the future of the country.

Given the current state of America in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and protests on our streets and throughout the world, we will be focusing on race and the future of  moving forward in many of our upcoming July episodes.

Clearly, we voted last month. And we hope you voted, too, and are ready to vote again in November!

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders as our citizens try to readjust to this pandemic during the summer at Baltimore Positive.

Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.

We’ll try to keep you cool.
