Because we haven’t been able to sit down and eat a proper crab cake at Faidley’s at Lexington Market or have some chicken and waffles at State Fare in Catonsville with our guests, we have been doing one longish episode rather than our customary three shorter blocks of conversation.
Given the current state of America in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and protests on our streets and throughout the world, we will be focusing on race and the future moving forward in many of our upcoming July episodes.
But we’ve also been able to go around Baltimore and find people who are still doing amazing things to serve others during this dreadful pandemic.
Heidi Daniel is the President and C.E.O. of the Enoch Pratt Free Library with branches and virtual availability almost everywhere. We discussed so many of the challenges of not being able to have citizens enter libraries during this time but also the many services that libraries all over our country provide for citizens.
We love books. We love reading. We love learning. Therefore, we absolutely love libraries!
You will love the energy of our spirited chat with Daniel and you’ll wanna go back to the Enoch Pratt Free Library when this one is over!
Clearly, we voted last month. And we hope you voted, too, and are ready to vote again in November!
We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.
We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders as our citizens try to readjust to this pandemic during the summer at Baltimore Positive.
Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.
We’ll try to keep you cool.
