David Wilson Morgan State

As the pandemic continues into its third month of lockdown here in the Charm City and with a huge June 2nd mail-in election on the horizon, we are stepping up our game at Baltimore Positive with daily conversations that we hope you subscribe to and hear and share with friends. It is a very important time for our hometown and our future. Please register to vote and participate in our democracy!

We will be hearing from many of the prime candidates in the Democratic race for Mayor of Baltimore over the next two weeks as election ballots arrive in the mail. And as graduations and the Preakness are on hold here and spring arrives, we will be asking many educational and university leaders about the impact of COVID-19 and the future of higher education in America.

You will not be disappointed by these lengthy, informative chats.

Dr. David Wilson is the president of Morgan State University. This was his first visit to Baltimore Positive but hopefully not the last. We talked about all of the issues surrounding the uncertainty of COVID-19 and campus learning. We also asked him why and how he fell in love with the Charm City and wanted to call it “home” and we’ll let you take listen to one of the best Baltimore Positive stories we’ve heard in recent years of his recruitment from Madison, Wisconsin.

Clearly, a lot has changed and it’s happening very quickly – and crisis management has become the key role for all us during the pandemic.

The next two weeks at Baltimore Positive will feature mayoral candidates and education and university leaders intertwined.

Don and Nestor have been extremely active the past two weeks having meaty conversations with some exceptional and aspirational people.

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders throughout this pandemic at Baltimore Positive. And we expect to do it at a rapid pace so stick with us and subscribe!

Like all others, we have halted a “live schedule” and will continue to launch our chats as we have them during this crisis. Expect more than less.

Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.

We were built for this…
