Throwing it all away
The defense as a whole of this year’s Baltimore Orioles team is the worst we’ve ever seen in Birdland. No matter how many games in a row they win, it’s atrocious. Fly balls. Ground balls. Cut off man. Cut off throws. Nothing is routine; everything is a wild adventure. Luke Jones and Nestor lament the Orioles throwing away their seven-game winning streak in Boston on Monday night.
Making sense of a very sensible deal with Bradish
When owner David Rubenstein said the Baltimore Orioles were “open for business” back in April after signing Shane Baz, we said we’d believe what we see in payroll spending. This week, Mike Elias inked top-of-the-rotation starter Kyle Bradish to a 5-year, $90 million deal that Luke Jones and Nestor highly endorse for the future of the franchise. We should all agree that starting pitching is pretty important.
The Slim Man returns home to cook and croon at La Scala
It’s always a pleasure to welcome Baltimore musician Tim Camp back home to discuss his work as The Slim Man and his Rat Pack crooning as he returns to Little Italy on Thursday night at La Scala to raise funds for the Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. Nestor gets all of the old Bootcamp, early MTV video stories and his work as a songwriter with Brian Jack of Child’s Play, as well as all of his current music (he calls it “a male Sade”) work in Palm Springs, California. Oh, and Slim is still cooking in the kitchen, too!
