After the waiver deadline passed without any players being awarded to the Ravens or any of their Tuesday cuts being claimed elsewhere, general manager Eric DeCosta went to work on the 16-man practice squad.

To no surprise, the 15 players signed Wednesday were all with Baltimore during the preseason. The list was headlined by 2024 sixth-round quarterback Devin Leary and undrafted rookie wide receiver Dayton Wade, who became a fan favorite over the summer after leading the Ravens with seven receptions and catching a 56-yard touchdown in the preseason win over Atlanta. Leary was the only member of Baltimore’s nine-man rookie draft class not to make the initial 53-man roster, but the organization will continue his long-term development despite an unimpressive preseason.

With fifth-round rookie running back Rasheen Ali still in the concussion protocol as of Monday, the Ravens signed running backs Chris Collier and John Kelly to their practice squad, so either player could be elevated as the No. 3 back for Week 1 if Ali isn’t cleared in time to play against Kansas City.

Baltimore also re-signed inside linebacker Josh Ross and cornerback Ka’dar Hollman, two players who could factor on special teams as potential game-day elevations.

Two other interesting signings from a developmental standpoint were undrafted rookie tight Qadir Ismail and wide receiver Malik Cunningham. Ismail, the son of former Ravens wide receiver and Super Bowl XXXV champion Qadry Ismail, showed as much growth as anyone on the 90-man roster this spring and summer while Cunningham transitioned from quarterback to wide receiver in the spring.

Below is Baltimore’s practice squad as of Wednesday afternoon:

OT Corey Bullock
RB Chris Collier
CB Bump Cooper Jr.
WR Malik Cunningham
G Darrian Dalcourt
OLB Joe Evans
CB Ka’dar Hollman
TE Qadir Ismail
RB John Kelly
WR Keith Kirkwood
QB Devin Leary
WR Anthony Miller
DE C.J. Ravenell
ILB Josh Ross
WR Dayton Wade

When will the frozen Orioles bats thaw this spring?

When will the frozen Orioles bats thaw this spring?

Sure, it's not the lineup that manager Craig Albernaz envisioned back in Sarasota in February but the Orioles need to figure out how to stop striking out and start hitting with runners in scoring position. Nestor Aparicio and Luke Jones discussed the Birds' struggles, including a five-game losing streak and scuffling through Kansas City waiting for the roster to get healthier and more productive.
Who can Orioles really count on to "pitch" in as innings add up?

Who can Orioles really count on to "pitch" in as innings add up?

Is there an "ace" in the starting rotation deck for the Baltimore Orioles? Sure, we all believed that Trevor Rogers and Kyle Bradish would make it look easy and that Shane Baz would pitch to his contract and Chris Bassitt would stabilize the staff and Zach Eflin...and then the season began. Luke Jones and Nestor discuss the Birds' pitching depth and scraping by on any win possible in Kansas City.
