History suggests Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta will make tweaks to the roster before the Sept. 7 opener at Buffalo, but below is a breakdown of the initial 53-man squad for the 2025 season:

QUARTERBACKS (2) — Lamar Jackson, Cooper Rush
Skinny: With no disrespect meant for the backup Rush, one only hopes the incomparable Jackson makes it a third straight season without missing any time because of injuries.

RUNNING BACKS (4) — Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell, Rasheen Ali
Skinny: A healthy Mitchell brings an intriguing change of pace to the backfield, but there are only so many touches available when the Father Time-defying Henry carries the ball 300 times per season.

WIDE RECEIVERS (6) — Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, DeAndre Hopkins, Tylan Wallace, Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester
Skinny: We’ll see how much of an impact Hopkins makes as the No. 3 wideout in his age-33 season, but this is the best wide receiver trio on paper that Baltimore has fielded in a long time.

TIGHT ENDS & FULLBACKS (4) — Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely, Charlie Kolar, Patrick Ricard
Skinny: Though Likely starting the season on the 53-man roster bodes well for his availability sooner than later, the Ravens will need a little more from Andrews and Kolar early with Likely still not practicing.

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN (9) — Ronnie Stanley, Andrew Vorhees, Tyler Linderbaum, Daniel Faalele, Roger Rosengarten, Joseph Noteboom, Ben Cleveland, Corey Bullock, Carson Vinson
Skinny: Even if the concerns about Faalele at right guard are overblown, the offensive line depth feels lighter than usual with the super versatile Patrick Mekari no longer in the game-day picture.

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN (5) — Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, Broderick Washington, John Jenkins, Aeneas Peebles
Skinny: This group turned out exactly as most expected with many seeing a healthy Jones as the biggest key to the defensive line hitting a new level in 2025.

INSIDE LINEBACKERS (5) — Roquan Smith, Trenton Simpson, Teddye Buchanan, Jake Hummel, Jay Higgins
Skinny: Though Simpson had a good summer and Higgins was a great story winning a roster spot as a rookie free agent, Smith’s health and effectiveness are absolute musts to the success of this group.

OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS (5) — Odafe Oweh, Kyle Van Noy, Tavius Robinson, Mike Green, David Ojabo
Skinny: While fans are excited to see what the rookie Green brings to this pass rush, coaches and teammates love Robinson, who quietly took a solid step as a rotation piece in his second season.

CORNERBACKS (6) — Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Jaire Alexander, Chidobe Awuzie, T.J. Tampa, Keyon Martin
Skinny: Though Baltimore cutting Jalyn Armour-Davis was a surprise, the health of the top four corners will likely be the difference between this defense being good and having a chance to be truly special.

SAFETIES (4) — Kyle Hamilton, Malaki Starks, Sanoussi Kane, Reuben Lowery
Skinny: Hamilton is one of the best players on the planet and Starks checked every box this summer, but questions will linger about Kane or the undrafted Lowery handling the No. 3 safety job when asked.

SPECIALISTS (3) — Tyler Loop, Jordan Stout, Nick Moore
Skinny: Loop’s summer went as well as the Ravens hoped, but the true test starts next month and will persist until the rookie makes everyone forget Justin Tucker, which isn’t the easiest burden to carry.
