Nestor gathered a few different folks from his space, CCBC professor Jay Trucker and lifer Dundalk ’85 pal Stan Jablonski to honor the late, great Shakespeare meets Bogart, non-digital old-school man of words who taught us a lot about life in those S.A.T. prep classes.

New York Times baseball writer and author Tyler Kepner has penned a book on the history of October lore. “The Grandest Stage: A History of The World Series” chronicles the most enduring showcase in our country’s history with the grand old game but Nestor wanted to discuss a personal history of his Baltimore Orioles and Kepner’s childhood Philadelphia Phillies and some 1983 and 1993 magic in pretty fare baseball towns.

Maryland Crab Cake (and Brewery) Tour Day 1: Conrad’s Seafood Market in Towson and Red Brick Station in White Marsh

The first day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland was a busy local Towson and White Marsh day. Dr. Steve Elliott from Elliott Chiropractic and Gregg Landry of Towson Transfer have been friends with Nestor for three decades and shared the local business and community love to kick off 31 crab cakes and 31 breweries in 31 days to celebrate 31 years on Baltimore airwaves and to promote local business and Restaurant Week all over the state from September 16th through 25th.

In the spring of 1994, Meat Loaf made a cameo as a ballpark guest from Oriole Park at Camden Yards on “The Budweiser Sports Forum” on WWLG-AM 1360. We’ll find some more visits from the late, great baseball lover Marvin Aday over the years but this was the first chat, which includes co-host Mark Mussina, the brother of Hall of Famer Mike.
