While Lamar Jackson still isn’t practicing on his way to missing a fifth straight game, the Ravens also have concerns over the health of backup quarterback Tyler Huntley ahead of the regular-season finale in Cincinnati.

Continuing to deal with right shoulder soreness that’s restricted his passing reps during practices, Huntley was listed as a limited participant for a second straight day.

“Anytime your quarterback can’t practice, that’s a tough situation, but it is what it is,” said offensive coordinator Greg Roman about Huntley’s limited throwing. “It’s the NFL in January. You have to adapt [to] try to overcome that. He’s working hard. He’s doing rehab like crazy. He’s been dealing with this thing for weeks and fighting through it. It’s changed maybe the way we’ve had to play some of these games a little bit, but we know when he’s at full strength, he’s a dynamic player for us.”

Huntley, 24, is averaging 5.9 yards per pass attempt while throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions since taking over for the injured Jackson in Week 13.

As expected, defensive end Calais Campbell (left knee) returned to practice and was able to participate fully on Thursday, an excellent sign for his Week 18 availability. Cornerback Marcus Peters (calf) practiced on a limited basis for a second straight day and also appears to be nearing a return after a two-game absence.

Asked about the dwindling amount of practice time remaining before the start of the playoffs next week, Roman expressed optimism that Jackson can still be ready in time. The superstar quarterback has missed more than a month since injuring his left knee on Dec. 4.

“He’s a special guy. I think if somebody’s got a chance to do it, he does,” Roman said. “You can always sit here and say this, that, and the other. You don’t really know until you get out there, but I would say I would bet on him. I would definitely bet on him. It’s not an ideal situation obviously, but it’s a great opportunity when he does come back for us to get him back in the lineup and get moving.”

It didn't even seem possible that colleagues Calvin Statham (59 years) and George Scheulen (46 years). who once taught Nestor at Holabird Junior High School in 1979, could still be teaching him about the important things in life beyond chorus and physics all these years later. Two beloved Baltimore County educators continue trying to tame their rambunctious student for the holidays with music and love (and crab cakes) at Costas Inn in Dundalk.
