His life and his Baltimore Orioles ownership tenure is so riddled with contradictions, pettiness and massive profit that it’s sometimes hard to see past the 21 years of wretchedness and remember his noble goals and missions in 1993 when he bought the city’s civic treasure. His legacy will be presented in great length here at WNST.net in March in The Peter Principles and there are no small paragraphs that can properly encapsulate his intentions or deeds but there’s no question he had a dream to win the World Series and to be voted “King of Baltimore.”

Alas, it hasn’t worked out that way for a poor, Greek kid from Highlandtown. But he did make a billion dollars off of buying the Baltimore Orioles and fighting with everyone and everything that has gotten in his way. He also dreamed of owning an NFL team in Baltimore. One thing Peter Angelos has never been accused of and that’s not dreaming big.
