OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Despite turning their attention toward Sunday’s home opener against Las Vegas, the Ravens are still feeling some effects from their Week 1 loss in Kansas City.

On Monday, Baltimore returned to the practice field without quarterback Lamar Jackson, whose 16 carries marked his most since 2021 and 122 rushing yards were the third-highest regular-season total of his sensational career. The two-time NFL MVP also took quite a few hits in the process, which may or may not have factored into Jackson not practicing so early in the week.

Coming off just the fifth season-opening loss of his 17-year run as Baltimore’s head coach, John Harbaugh wasn’t tipping his hand when asked about his quarterback’s absence.

“We had a number of guys that weren’t out there — some personal, some physical,” Harbaugh said. “Injury report comes out Wednesday afternoon, so you’ll be better advised on that day regarding all those guys.”

For what it’s worth, Jackson appeared in a video that the team posted on social media regarding team photos being taken, which confirmed he was at the team’s training facility on Monday.

As anticipated, outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (eye) wasn’t taking part in Monday’s practice either after NFL Network reported that the veteran suffered an orbital bone fracture in the third quarter of the 27-20 loss to the Chiefs. Harbaugh also deferred to Wednesday’s injury report when asked about Van Noy’s status.

Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins, return specialist and wide receiver Deonte Harty, and outside linebacker Adisa Isaac (hamstring) were also absent during the portion of Monday’s workout open to reporters. With Van Noy’s status unclear and Isaac still not practicing since hurting his hamstring in the Aug. 17 preseason game against Atlanta, the Ravens could find themselves short in the edge defender department against the Raiders.

Baltimore will hold its next practice on Wednesday.
