OWINGS MILLS, Md. โ€” Back on the practice field and shifting their attention toward the Tennessee Titans, the Ravens found veteran receiver Lee Evans back in a walking boot.
The 30-year-old receiver was held without a catch in Sundayโ€™s 35-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and played an effective decoy to clear space underneath for fellow receiver Anquan Boldin as well as the Ravensโ€™ tight ends and running backs. However, Evans lacked the same explosion seen in the third preseason game against the Washington Redskins and was not practicing on Wednesday afternoon.

Left guard Ben Grubbs was also missing during the portion of practice open for media viewing and may still be dealing with the thigh injury that landed him on the injury report โ€” listed as probable โ€” against Pittsburgh on Friday. The fifth-year lineman played the entire game against the Steelers with no apparent limitations.
The other two missing from practice were far less surprising as cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (ankle) and Chris Carr (hamstring) were not present on the field during practice. Smith is expected to miss a few weeks, according to coach John Harbaugh, while Carr continues to deal with a nagging hamstring injury thatโ€™s hindered him for the last four weeks.
Carr, a member of the Tennessee Titans in 2008, saw a specialist in Texas earlier this week to get another opinion about the hamstring. The injury is not a tear, according to Harbaugh.
Return specialist David Reed was back on the field upon being activated from the reserve-suspended list on Tuesday. The second-year receiver was suspended for the regular-season opener without pay for violating the leagueโ€™s substance abuse policy and replaced rookie defensive end Michael McAdoo โ€” who was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury โ€” on the 53-man roster
Reed was fielding kickoffs in his customary spot while Lardarius Webb and Torrey Smith were also taking a few reps during the special teams portion of practice. Webb and rookie LaQuan Williams were fielding punts.
