OWINGS MILLS, Md. โ The Baltimore Ravens have concluded their participation in the 2010 NFL Draft after selecting seven players, including two defensive tackles and two tight ends.
The Ravens added to Friday nightโs haul of linebacker Sergio Kindle, defensive tackle Terrence Cody, and tight end Ed Dickson by adding tight end Dennis Pitta, receiver David Reed, defensive tackle Art Jones, and offensive lineman Ramon Harewood in rounds 4 through 6 of the draft.
After speaking to the media following their final selection of Harewoodโthe first player from Barbados, according to Eric DeCostaโitโs clear the Ravens brass is thrilled with the work its done over the last three days.

Ozzie Newsome
โ โThe initiative that Roger Goodell had of making this a three-day event has been very successful.โ

โ On the organization not drafting a corner and the possibility of future movers: โYou have to get after the passer โฆ As we move forward, the rosterโs still fluid.โ
โ Newsome admitted there was interest for certain corners but werenโt slotted on their board where the team was drafting: โWe donโt feel like we have to reach.โ
โ On the kicking situation: โI donโt think weโll be signing a rookie kicker.โ Newsome did say there will be competition by the time training camp rolls around.
โ On the drafts of AFC North opponents: โThey all improved themselves.โ
John Harbaugh
โ On the work of the scouting department: โThis board, we can trust it.โ
โ โPicks donโt mean anything until they become players.โ
โ After not selecting a player on Day 1: โWe were all a little bit edgy.โ
โ On the two tight ends: โThey fit our depth chart very well.โ
โ On draftโs impact on special teams: โSergio Kindleโs going to be able to run down the field on kickoffs.โ
โ On not selecting a corner: โI donโt think it was a real deep corner class myself โฆ Weโll find a way to add a corner.โ
โ Harbaugh acknowledged Frank Walkerโs return was โa possibility.โ
โ On tight end position: โTodd Heap is our tight end. We expect a great year from him.โ
Eric DeCosta
โ On undrafted free agent possibilities: โWe have a list of guys we want to go after.โ
โ DeCosta said the organization benefited from not having a seventh-round pick as it relates to undrafted free agents: โYou can start early in the process.โ
โ On Harewoodโs intelligence: โHe actually does want to be a rocket scientist someday.โ
โ On tight end position: โWe felt like it was a very deep tight end pool.โ
โ On tight ends Dickson and Pitta: โThese guys have done a lot of different things. Theyโre versatile.โ
โ On the tradeโs tone for rest of the draft: โIt ended up being the beginning of a great draft.โ
โ On organizationโs excitement for all seven players: โThat sense of ownership is really what you strive [for].โ
Joe Hortiz
โ On Pitta: โHeโs got outstanding hands, really savvy route runner.โ
โ On Reed: โCrafty route runner; excellent toughness.โ Hortiz also said heโs a capable kick returner.
โ On Jones: โBig body defensive tackle โฆ Heโs a leverage player like Goose, Kelly Gregg.โ Hortiz also noted he was a much better player his junior season at Syracuse.
โ On Harewood: โHeโs raw. He needs a lot of developmental work โฆ Heโs got the passion and drive to get better.โ
