2. Touchdown or not? – Dec. 14, 2008
With the Ravens leading 9-6 with under a minute to play in the game, Ben Roethlisberger connected with Santonio Holmes at the goal line:

Ask many Ravens fans today and they’re still not convinced it was a touchdown, but referee Walt Coleman overturned the original call on the field that the ball was short of the goal line, awarding the Steelers a touchdown and a 13-9 win. Coleman claimed after the game that the ball had barely broken the plane of the goal line despite failing to make mention of that tipping point during his on-field explanation.
Holmes
Right or wrong, the call had nothing to do with the Baltimore offense that mustered only three field goals as rookie Joe Flacco threw two interceptions and was just 11 of 28 for 115 yards.
The controversial call and victory gave the Steelers the AFC North championship as the Ravens would win their last two games to earn a wild card spot, eventually meeting Pittsburgh again in the AFC Championship.
