Harbaugh offered no new information on injuries but indicated that the Ravens should be in good shape for Saturday’s game in Denver.
Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe left Sunday’s game with a sprained ankle but indicated he should be ready to go for the divisional round. The fourth-year defensive player has dealt with an ankle injury since late November and missed three games in December.
“We don’t have anything to report today,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll have an injury report for you tomorrow when we’re required to, but it doesn’t look like we have anything major coming out of the game. That’s good news.”
A guarded eye will be on linebacker Terrell Suggs, who indicated to Yahoo! Sports’ Mike Silver after Sunday’s game that his surgically-repaired Achilles tendon “acted up” and felt “pretty bad” in the win over the Colts. However, Suggs did not leave the game at any point where he appeared to be laboring.
Kindle’s time in Baltimore comes to end
The Ravens have finally parted ways with 2010 second-round draft pick Sergio Kindle, who was released from the practice squad on Monday.
Kindle was waived from the active roster on Oct. 20 to create a spot for the returning Terrell Suggs. The young linebacker cleared waivers and was signed to the practice squad but made no threat of cracking the 53-man roster before Monday’s decision.
“That was a conversation that was between Sergio and I. I think most of it should remain private, but it was positive,” Harbaugh said. “It was kind of mutually-agreed upon between the two of us. It was nothing that he did or didn’t do. I told him I have high hopes for Sergio.”
Kindle played in one game this season, recording a tackle in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. His time in Baltimore will always be filled with thoughts of what might have been had Kindle not suffered a fall down two flights of stairs in the days leading up to what was supposed to be his first training camp.
The accident left him with a fractured skull and permanent hearing loss in one ear.
“He and I have gotten real close and I feel some responsibility for him and really want to see him do well,” Harbaugh said. “I really think he’s got a chance to be good in this league. In the future, we’ll be there — I’ll be there — to support him and do whatever we can to help him. He’s hoping for an opportunity somewhere where he can maybe take the next step.”
Quote of the day
Harbaugh was made aware of safety Bernard Pollard’s comparison of Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to a MacBook computer after Sunday’s win, and the head coach saw humor in the analogy while also paying compliments to the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
“He’s not a computer — that’s for sure,” Harbaugh said. “He may have a computer for a brain, but he’s a man. We’re going to need to try to confuse him and we’re going to need to try to put pressure on him. … He’s a real smart quarterback; I think that’s the point.”
The Ravens haven’t won a game in Denver since 2001, the same year in which Baltimore last defeated Manning.
