Considering the struggles of the offensive line and the absence of left guard Ben Grubbs since that high-water performance against the Steelers, the Ravens may be catching Pittsburgh at the right time — even with having to play at Heinz Field. Pass protection has been a concern, especially since the bye week as the Ravens have struggled to protect quarterback Joe Flacco in games against Houston, Jacksonville, and Arizona.
Regardless of who’s available for the Steelers on Sunday night, the Ravens are expecting a performance more in line with their Week 1 showing against their bitter enemies rather than the pass-protecting struggles of the last few weeks.
“They’ll be ready to play against Pittsburgh, and we’ll be the best offensive line we can be,” coach John Harbaugh said. “They’re capable of playing winning football against Pittsburgh. That’s the only thing you need to assess as a coach. You look at where you can get better, and how specifically, and you try and work on all those things, and you build on the good things.”
