We have discussed the opioid epidemic and its grave danger throughout our region many times on Baltimore Positive but this COVID-19 crisis has created so much down time and home life for everyone in society that we knew weโ€™d be addressing it again.

Joe Abdalla is no strangers to drugs, drug addicts and dealers. As Washington, D.C. police officer for nearly three decades, Abdalla saw all elements of the drug life and has no focused his energy on the opioid crisis as the Executive Director of Code 3 For Change, who educate parents and friends of addicts about the warning signs of opioid addiction. This was a compelling and timely conversation about a problem that was destroying America before COVID-19. It was the epidemic before the pandemic.

Clearly, a lot has changed and itโ€™s happening very quickly โ€“ and crisis management has become the key role for all us during the pandemic.

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders throughout this pandemic at Baltimore Positive. And we expect to do it at a rapid pace so stick with us and subscribe!

Like all others, we have halted a โ€œlive scheduleโ€ and will continue to launch our chats as we have them during this crisis. Expect more than less.

Because of the election moving to June 2nd, we will be having more of the mayoral candidates back to Baltimore Positive to discuss all of the current issues and the additional five weeks of virtual campaigning for the hopefuls.

Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.
