Because we havenโ€™t been able to sit down and eat a proper crab cake at Faidleyโ€™s at Lexington Market or have some chicken and waffles at State Fare in Catonsville with our guests, we have been doing one longish episode rather than our customary three shorter blocks of conversation.

Given the current state of America in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and protests on our streets and throughout the world, we will be focusing on race and the future of  moving forward in many of our upcoming June episodes.

Don has known DeRay McKesson for many years โ€“ long before his journey from Minneapolis to Ferguson and his life as a national activist. McKesson joined us along with his Campaign Zero partner Samuel Sinyangwe, another activist involved in Black Lives Matter, to discuss the ways local municipalities can pull back the reigns on what police can legally and physically enforce on the streets of America.

By all mean, please visit www.8cantwait.org to learn more about this important initiative that weโ€™ve been hearing about all week across America.

Ben Jealous and Barry Williams are coming this week to Baltimore Positive.

Clearly, we voted this month. And we hope you voted, too!

We will have a lot of reaction to the elections in the coming days and weeks.

We are all in this together and this is a time to educate, unite and keep each other safe. But we also have some extra time to read and learn and educate ourselves in many ways.

We will continue to produce high-quality, intelligent conversations with thought leaders as our citizens try to readjust to this pandemic during the summer at Baltimore Positive.

Please subscribe to Baltimore Positive and stay with us.

Weโ€™ll try to keep you cool.
