Needing a win in Green Bay to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, the Ravens are not expected to have two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson available on Saturday night.

Baltimore officially designated Jackson as doubtful to play against the Packers as he continues to recover from a back contusion suffered late in the first half of last Sunday’s loss to New England. The 28-year-old hasn’t practiced all week and is now on the verge of missing his fourth game of the season.

“It’s not like a black and blue mark. These are deep tissue contusions,” head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday. “I’m not a medical guy, but I did see the MRI. It’s legitimate and very painful. It tends to [have] the muscles lock up around it. You can’t really move very well. He’s in that process now of loosening all that up hopefully. You can’t really say when it’s going to be right. … Believe me, if he can go out there and do it, this guy’s one of the ultimate competitors that you’re ever going to see. If he’s able to go, he’s going to be out there going.”

Backup Tyler Huntley is in line to start in Jackson’s place.

After missing last week’s game with a foot injury, veteran cornerback Chidobe Awuzie does not carry a game status designation and is set to return.

Having lost three of their last four games to fall to 7-8 in a disappointing 2025 campaign, the Ravens would officially be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss to Green Bay or a Pittsburgh win in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon. Baltimore hasn’t missed the postseason since 2021 when Jackson sat out the final four games of that season with an ankle injury.

The Ravens aren’t the only ones with concerns at quarterback, however, as the Packers listed starter Jordan Love (concussion) and backup Malik Willis (right shoulder/illness) as questionable for Saturday’s game. Love has been able to practice on a limited basis all week, but he must clear concussion protocol in order to play Saturday night.

Closing the Loop, it’s hard to Tuck away the kick of karma and rub (and tug) of being wide wrong on John Harbaugh. Any list of questions for Bisciotti should begin with Tucker – and anything else we've missed since Lamar was drafted

Do you have your own "Dear Steve Bisciotti" list of questions? We do. And we will, as Luke Jones will be in The Castle on Tuesday afternoon as the Baltimore Ravens owner and general manager Eric DeCosta will address (some of) the local media and take some questions about the search for a new coach after the firing of John Harbaugh this week. Plenty of depth here about the culture of the building in Owings Mills and the future leadership of the football operation.
