(These players have two or fewer accrued seasons in the league and own no negotiating rights. In order for the Ravens to retain the rights to these players, they must tender contracts at the league minimum based on their respective service times in the NFL.)
LB Albert McClellan: STAYS
Skinny: His special-teams ability as well as his versatility to play different linebacker spots makes McClellan a valuable depth player.
RB Anthony Allen: STAYS
Skinny: Allen should receive some credit for Jones’ success as a return man, excelling as the lead blocker on the kick return unit.
LB Josh Bynes: STAYS
Skinny: Bynes could find himself competing for a starting role with the futures of both Ellerbe and McClain up in the air right now.
DT Bryan Hall: STAYS
Skinny: One of the biggest characters in the Baltimore locker room, Hall was active in only five regular-season games and will once again need a strong preseason to make the 53-man roster.
RB Damien Berry: STAYS
Skinny: Spending the entire season on IR with a shoulder injury, Berry has been with the organization for two years but will need to show a lot to make the 53-man roster next year.
RB Bobby Rainey: STAYS
Skinny: The undrafted Western Kentucky product was a surprise of last year’s training camp and spent three weeks on the active roster in the middle of the season, so it will be interesting to see if he can carve out a role in an already-crowded backfield that includes Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce.
LB Adrian Hamilton: STAYS
Skinny: The record-setting pass rusher from Prairie View A&M will be someone to watch next preseason as the Ravens will be looking for an individual or two to fill the void left behind by Kruger.
S Emanuel Cook: STAYS
Skinny: A leg injury in the preseason ended Cook’s 2012 campaign, but the Ravens like his upside as a safety in addition to his work on special teams, meaning he’ll have an opportunity to make the roster during training camp.
S Anthony Levine: STAYS
Skinny: Levine was active for two games in November after beginning the year on the practice squad and will have a chance to compete for a roster spot this summer.
S Omar Brown: STAYS
Skinny: The defensive back finished the season on the 53-man roster and was active for three regular-season games, meaning he falls into the same category as Cook and Levine.
