We love Indian food and love it so much that we want to share our love with the uninitiated and convert the world to chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi and a proper saag paneer. We’ve had a few decent places around over the years but give the Himalayan House in Locust Point some love if you’re local. Get it spiced nice and enjoy that leftover rice!

And somehow Marcella Knight and the awesome folks at Koco’s Pub were still nice enough to allow us to celebrate their 40th Anniversary that required some #TastyNes Koconut Shrimp along on the Maryland Crab Cake Tour from the heart of Lauraville with tales of our favorite things to eat in Baltimore along with our favorite Ko-Host, sports cartoonist Ricig.

The website at Fuji San says: “Best drunken noodles and pad thai in Maryland” and we’re not here to argue that as a gastronomic fact. If you love Thai food, make a stop on York Road in Cockeysville and see why we rarely go anywhere else when we’re craving a passage to Bangkok.
We came for a crab cake and got some good civics and community lessons from 2nd District councilman Izzy Patoka and owner Hope Otto of Reter’s Crab House & Grille discussing jobs, young people and the Reisterstown Improvement Association’s efforts to bring folks out and know their neighbors. The 23rd day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland took us to a place we hadn’t been in many years – Timbuktu in Elkridge en route to see Duran Duran at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Nile Rodgers stole the show but Timbuktu can stick those pimentos in my ‘cake anytime.
The third day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland was an early evening trip to The Soul Kuisine at Station North for a carryout order and the church of beer a.k.a Ministry of Brewing in Butcher’s Hill near Patterson Park. It’s all part of community love to kick off 31 crab cakes and 31 breweries in 31 days to celebrate 31 years on Baltimore airwaves and to promote local business and Restaurant Week all over the state from September 16th through 25th.
Our fifth stop on the Maryland Crab Cake Tour takes us just across the Anne Arundel County border to Linthicum Heights and a chance to chat with G&A owner John Zoulis about how he sells so many and where the legend of this tasty cake began.
