Longtime St. Louis sportswriter Jeff Gordon joins former colleague Nestor for a Mayflower journey on losing franchises and winning championships – and still losing franchises. Catching up on Canada, NFL passion and power of Jays since we left Toronto on Opening Day

It’s always a pleasure to find time with our favorite Canadian NFL historian, Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report, who tackles the tariffs of Toronto and all that ails Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens from the beach in Santos, Brazil.

The big money of NFL communications and the rising wall for media access and truth for fans

As we continue to see Baltimore Ravens players slip out the back door after losses and the questions seem to get softer for all of the players and coaches as accountability – and availability – dwindles, we wonder what the future of sports media holds for the fans and truth and answers. Our longtime pal and lifer NFL and Hollywood public relations pal Chip Namias returns to discuss billionaire owners, incomprehensible money and power and the communications changes in football over the years.

Former sports executive Micah Buchdahl comes home to Baltimore from Philly to discuss pro teams and fan support

They met over 40 years ago in the professional sports space. Now a Philadelphia lawyer, Baltimorean Micah Buchdahl was once a Washington Capitals PR assistant who later ran a MISL soccer franchise and maintains his long friendship with Nestor via the Eagles, Phillies and 76ers family passion on his timeline. It’s always a pleasure to welcome Buchdahl home for a discussion about winning, losing and spending the money it takes to host parades and keep fans (and their wallets) engaged.

Baltimore vs. Washington (again)

Our old WTOP Sports pal Dave Preston discusses the current state of Washington and Baltimore sports. The Orioles struggling with the worst starting pitching in the majors and frigid bats. The Nats have a rough schedule and a disappointing bullpen. And the Capitals are contending, with Alex Ovechkin creating thrills and chasing another goblet.

It’s always a pleasure to spend time talking Yankees baseball and college basketball madness with New York Post columnist Mike Vaccaro but this time it was the legacy, writing and relationships of the late, great John Feinstein that fires up the reporter in all sports newspaper men of an evaporating generation. Words on Woj Bombs, the St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the legacy of George Steinbrenner with the venerable Gotham sage.

For the love of our legendary “Uncle” Phil Jackman

The world lost a force of nature. We lost a dear friend, mentor and spiritual north star when longtime sportswriter and columnist Phil Jackman of The Evening Sun died at 87 last week. This is a 2003 sitdown with the reformed TV repairman. It’s two hours of his life, views on sports and the world and tales never told about Ali, Yaz, Earl Weaver and Andre The Giant.
