The landscape of college lacrosse is much different today than it was 40 years ago with top programs beginning to emerge around the country, but that shouldn’t take anything away from the Blue Jays’ incredible run of 41 straight appearances in the NCAA tournament that began a year after the inception of the tournament.
Their streak was surpassed this spring by the University of Miami baseball program advancing to the NCAA tournament for a 42nd straight year, but Hopkins missing the tournament in 2013 brought an end to arguably the most impressive team streak ever seen locally.
