OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Ravens received a mixed bag of attendance news on Friday with the return of cornerback Lardarius Webb and the absence of wide receiver Breshad Perriman and linebacker Elvis Dumervil from the second practice of the summer.
A day after failing his conditioning test and beginning training camp on the non-football injury list, the 29-year-old Webb passed the test and returned to the practice field. John Harbaugh expressed disappointment in Webb on Thursday, but the head coach did not sound concerned about the veteran’s long-term outlook.
Perriman remained sidelined with a knee “bruise” as Harbaugh reiterated that the first-round pick would not be out long, adding that the rookie wanted to practice on Friday after falling on his knee making a diving catch a day earlier.
The 2014 Pro Bowl selection Dumervil’s absence was more of a mystery as Harbaugh said he was dealing with general tendinitis, but the coach would not disclose exactly where the tendinitis was when asked. Dumervil practiced on Thursday without any apparent incident.
Defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan struggled to handle the heat of Friday’s practice, eventually leaving the field early to receive intravenous fluids.
Tight end Dennis Pitta (hip), safety Terrence Brooks (knee), and defensive tackle Casey Walker (knee) did not practice as all three remain on the active physically unable to perform list.
