15. John Lowenstein homers to win Game 1 of the 1979 American League Championship Series

After a season full of comeback victories that birthed the phenomenon “Oriole Magic” in 1979, it was only fitting that the Orioles would begin the postseason in the same dramatic fashion. With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 10th, pinch-hitter John Lowenstein hit a three-run homer off California Angels pitcher John Montague to give the Orioles a series-opening win and send the Memorial Stadium faithful home happy.

The Orioles would go on to win the series by a 3-1 margin before losing in seven games to the Pittsburgh Pirates in the World Series, but Lowenstein remains the only Baltimore player to hit a walk-off home run in postseason history.
