PITTSBURGH — The Ravens offensive line took a step forward and another step back prior to Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh.

While star left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) made his return to the field after a two-game absence, veteran right guard Kevin Zeitler was deactivated with a knee injury that sidelined him for all but one limited practice this past week. The 32-year-old had missed only one game over his last eight seasons and didn’t miss an offensive snap in last week’s win over Denver, but he didn’t appear comfortable during a pregame workout roughly an hour before the inactive list was released.

Third-year offensive lineman Trystan Colon was preparing to start at right guard during full-team warmups. The first three starts of his NFL career all came at center.

As expected after being listed as doubtful and missing the entire practice week with a left knee injury, quarterback Lamar Jackson was officially inactive with various reports indicating he’s also likely to miss next Saturday’s game in Cleveland. Tyler Huntley was set to make his fifth career NFL start in Jackson’s place with rookie practice-squad member Anthony Brown set to back him up for Week 14.

After being activated from injured reserve on Saturday, running back J.K. Dobbins and safety Marcus Williams were indeed active for the first time since October. Sunday marked the first time since the end of the 2020 season that Dobbins and fellow running back Gus Edwards were appearing in the same game.

Tight end Nick Boyle was a healthy scratch for the first time since Week 2.

And we will, as Luke Jones will be in The Castle on Tuesday afternoon as the Baltimore Ravens owner and general manager Eric DeCosta will address (some of) the local media and take some questions about the search for a new coach after the firing of John Harbaugh this week. Plenty of depth here about the culture of the building in Owings Mills and the future leadership of the football operation.
