On the tenth day of the Maryland #CrabCakeTour in 2021, Nestor had August 10th circled as “Howard County” all along with James Taylor and Jackson Browne performing at Merriweather Post Pavilion. With a few tips on the former G.L. Shack’s (where Nestor’s band Ridgemont High once played outside on the deck) now called Leelynn’s Dining Room and Lounge, the pre-gaming was on Old Annapolis Road just off Columbia Pike.

This was another great decision in a month of many.

Follow along all of July for last year’s glorious and delicious 30 crab cakes in 30 days (#CrabCakeTour on Twitter and Facebook) and let Nestor re-tell you where to go this summer for a tasty ‘cake.

This year’s tour is sponsored by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill Industries and Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland and begins at Rocky Gap State Park on August 1st and will stretch for 31 thirsty days and nights as Nestor celebrates his 31st Anniversary as Baltimore’s longest-running and most celebrated radio voice and media traveling crab cake taster all month for a second run at great Maryland businesses and local breweries all over The Free State. From Oakland to Ocean City, from Cumberland to Cambridge – The Maryland Crab Cake Tour retrospective from 2020 is here and the 2021 edition is coming your way.

If you have a nominee for a delicious Maryland crab cake somewhere on the local roads, now is the time to toss Nestor a note: nes@baltimorepositive.com. We’re always looking for a new place to bring our sponsors: The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill Industries and Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland in support of Restaurant Week from September 16-25, 2022.

Big spinning for cash and the suite life at Camden Yards

Executive Director John Martin of The Maryland Lottery loves telling Nestor the winner stories every week but they don't always come with a big spin and some big flys for cash. The Big Spin continues to bring winners to Montgomery Park for fun and Home Run Riches spoils Birds fans at Oriole Park at Camden Yards as the bats awaken downtown.
Staring up at the Tampa Bay Rays was never the plan for Orioles

Staring up at the Tampa Bay Rays was never the plan for Orioles

It was great to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week but as our resident Baltimorean trapped in Florida and old sportswriter Joel Poiley will tell you, it's still mostly a mess for the first-place franchise that also has new ownership but an old and successful way of producing a competitive baseball franchise.
