Welcome back wn s t test a little more and Baltimore positive with the big Lamar Jackson news that he is requested to trade. John hardball out in Arizona at the NFL owners meetings and Steve shoddy in hiding lots folks reaching to me and asking me what I think about Lamar Jackson. So I’m going on their radio shows all over the country. One of them is my dear friend JT the brick. John turn our we’re friends in real life and have traveled the world together for the better part of 25 years. And he hosts the show at Las Vegas. He’s one of the voices of the Las Vegas Raiders before that the Oakland Raiders and now is with Sirius XM. He’s a guest on my show anytime I asked. He asked to have me on his program on Monday night right after the Lamar Athan began and this is how it went with the brick on Mad Dog radio Sirius XM.

Nestor Aparicio, my longtime friend ravens inside of forever, wrote a book on the Ravens Purple Rain, all the success in and around that market on WASD. I want to begin NAS First off, how crazy was it that Lamar dropped that tweet? As Harbaugh sat down and Harbaugh had no idea was coming? That’s an old timer for me.

Nestor Aparicio  01:14

Well, I mean, sort of opens up the war. Drums, doesn’t it? Right. I mean, like it was very, very obvious that Lamar waited for I mean, I was watching. I’ve been thrown out after 27 years. So it’s the first time in 18 years that I was not sitting next to John hardball at the owners meetings. That’s a long story. You can Google but so I was not there to ask questions. I was literally watching it on their website, and I and the website feed came up four minutes before and the thing dropped. Literally, the minute you could see horrible in the picture coming to sit down at the podium, it dropped. And it was vicious. And I mean an act of war. And you and I have debated on my program as well as your program over the last I don’t know 90 days as to whether he wanted to be a raven. And you know, brick, I’ve come to this grand conclusion on all of this. And I would like to say that I am not fatigued about this. I’m intrigued more than fatigued by all this, because I think they both have put themselves in a situation where I don’t. They’re just hoping Jim Irsay comes along or Dan Schneider wants to throw one more bullet in their back on the way out the door to give guaranteed money. But this has been brewing for months. It’s been it’s been a problem. And and if I were an owner, if I’m Jim or say or I’m Arthur Blank, or I’m Stephen Ross down the line, the first thing that I would say to Lamar Jackson when I fly this is why were you not at the game in Cincinnati. Can you explain that to me, like explain to me that the team not want you there? Or did you not want to be there because that has been is airtight in this city, with teammates, players, coaches, the real reason Lamar Jackson wasn’t there with a tablet supporting his football teams, the highest paid player on the team was the face of the franchise. He’s hurt, quote unquote. And I mean, just the fact that he might have been shaking it that he might have been shaking. It is disturbing. And I think that once that gets out, you can talk about collusion. demora Smith could talk about it all they want, but this was the sort of way that no other owner no other head coach, no other general manager would want to be treated like in this circumstance, and I’m not here to make any case for the shoddy or hardball or d’acosta but what Lamar Jackson did to them. Today is something that I don’t know that you jump back across that bridge and have rainbows and unicorns and you know, just come back and play football and give him $200 million to do it. It doesn’t feel like he wants to be a Baltimore Ravens FiOS ravens,

J.T. The Brick  03:56

Nestor Aparicio, WN S T. And that’s why I wanted to have you on because specifically, knowing everybody involved in these parties over the years, that was an act of social media war, as you put it, that was look Twitter versus a gutter. And there’s some good things that could happen and every GoFundMe, there’s some beautiful things you can do online. But someone was standing next to him saying send counting it down from 5432. And one and that was something that he consciously thought about. And he embarrassed his coach, because you know, you’ve been sitting there forever. You’ve been to these meetings. That is not an easy session for head coaches. You deal with the local media, maybe a national guy jumps jumps into like a Peter King, and you got to answer everything. You can’t tap out 10 minutes into that breakfast Scrum and say, Hey, I gotta go and take a phone call. You got to handle all of this. And I just think that John Harbaugh then was on his heels because he didn’t see the tweet. He didn’t know it was coming. And that to me elevates the bad blood going forward, which like you leads me to believe this won’t be rectified John Hall

Nestor Aparicio  04:59

or ball look like a fool at the owners meetings and absolute fool. Speaking and fantasy. That is the problem. The Ravens lie and they lie and they lie. They’ve been lying from the beginning. They lie that Lamar was going to be involved in their offensive coordinator search, they covered up whatever the reason that they sent him home and told him don’t come to Cincinnati. They said, if you’re not going to play, don’t show up because we know you can play and you’re not as hard as you say you are. And then he tweeted out that he was way were hurt way worse than they ever said he was. And that, you know, he was pressured when they told Rich Eisen and the whole NFL Network crew that he would be back by Christmas and ready to play two weeks before the Cincinnati finale. And he was never seen again. And that, like literally all of this added up to what we saw today. But to your point, the act of war against the coach, where the coach sits there and just pretends that the bet the kid never asked for a trade that he that he came in there three weeks ago and ask out, brick there’s a history with this last year, Hollywood Brown, Marquis Brown asked to be traded. And they all kept it quiet. Everybody kept it quiet in draft mode. If you remember in the middle of the draft, the Ravens traded in their former first round pick, you know they and Lamar tweet at that moment was WTF. He literally tweeted out about his organization, and his buddy Hollywood brown that got traded. And at that moment, the Ravens said out loud, we told them all we were trading him he asked to be traded, it seems body we honored his request to be traded. And, and this time around, maybe they had some backdoor with Lamar, maybe they didn’t know, I don’t know. But if on March 2, he said I want to be traded. And they’re still holding press conferences, talking about how much they love him, and how much he wants to be back and they start to put those words in his mouth. Then this thing the trains off the track man and I and again, I don’t know who’s gonna come and hire him to play football and give up draft picks and get in guaranteed money that may or may not deserve that there may or may not be collusion, because I you know, I don’t think much of the integrity these men, I’ve been in that room. But I would say this at some point. The him coming back and playing for the Baltimore Ravens really became an awful, awful long shot, but it was already not a great circumstance and to think that he’s going to happily play for $32 million. Even. I mean, the rave they’re both in a bad spot brick, they really are. It’s of all the 32 teams gathering out in the desert. They’re the team with the most uncertainty in the whole league.

J.T. The Brick  07:44

Nestor Aparicio. Last one and we’re gonna have to I got Mike Florio coming up. So I’ll look at the the legal side and the deal and how this could happen. I came on your show and said I think the dolphins want him. I know he wants to be a dolphin. I know Lamar Jackson wants to play in South Florida. That’s where he is. That’s where he trains and I think with the dolphins not having that first pick. And what’s going on with Tula. As they extended his contract through his rookie contract, at least I think what’s going to happen dolphins or anybody else, it’s going to have to be now a trade, it’s not going to be one of those exclusive tags situations, they’re going to wait till after the draft, maybe this gets stretched out a long way. And then so much it’s going to make a good old fashioned trade with the Baltimore Ravens on what they could get if they don’t want to meet that exclude non exclusive franchise tag. And I just wonder, and this is where NAS I side with Lamar Jackson, he deserved a couple of bleep and offers from some of these owners around the league, not a lowball because we know Baltimore would attack the lowball and lock them up for that. But he should have been given 170 181 90 guaranteed or something similar, a little bit more of a bump than the one he turned down from the Ravens. And I think everybody would be happy going forward.

Nestor Aparicio  08:56

I don’t disagree with any part of what you’re saying. All of this really goes back to his decision, his personal decision, to not trust anybody, and to not have an agent. And to be really honestly, brick, if it’s your child, if it’s my child. The reason we get an agent, the reason you get an agent, or I get an agent at this level is so we don’t get screwed. So we don’t get taken advantage of he has been screwed and taken advantage of because he didn’t have an agent. If he had an agent three years ago, they would have inked them to a deal. He would have had 100 million guaranteed money. He could be pissed off now and holding out and saying I’m not going to play and whatever with the money in the bank, as opposed to the situation he has now. I saw this reported last week. Josh Allen at the end of this year was Lamar were to play for 32 million. Josh Allen would have had 160 million in money in his bank and Lamar would have less than 60 $100 million less than Josh Allen because he hasn’t had a shoe endorsing he hasn’t had a cut. I mean, he’s in the city of UnderArmour dude, and he hit the only door first commit that we’ve ever seen and be a part of was whatever that scam was last week on the internet with the job Jim with his buddies calling around. To me. The keys cost himself 2030 $40 million already already and I know he’s never gonna get up from that.
