Welcome home we are wn St. AF 1570, Towson Baltimore we got the Maryland crabcake tour out on the road a lot this month we’re gonna be a Cooper’s north on Tuesday in Timonium Mays chapel we talking about Fleet Week later on this month. It’s pride month this month. We’re gonna be overstated fair this month. That’s Thursday morning. The Orioles are playing a whole bunch of games in the afternoon on the road, Toronto and New York will be a costus later this month with our web developer Jessica valus. Who Harford designs you just redid our whole website and our whole front and when he brought finds on front, she’s gonna be our guest here from curio wellness. I spent a couple of weeks and she and I caught up. When I last left you I was chasing the Northern Lights and sore after coming back from a weekend of lazy serial networking that I covered with Bill Cole from coal roofing and Gordian energy at this pool in Las Vegas. And then there was Pearl Jam and Mick Jagger. My wife’s birthday is as we tape this today, she got her 25% off it’s probably necessary after the for 20 Because I gotta go back and get some more move. Because I have back I say how can Mick Jagger is Mick Jagger using this stuff? I need to know when I wish. Well, he’s using something man. I mean, he’s you know satisfaction. And a week later I need here to move products here and some bomb the feel a little better. How are things when you Happy Memorial Day Happy Summer to you. I know. You’re all you guys are always working hard. Every time I get a newsletter. There’s like a there’s a new product happening. You guys are really working our behind the scenes out there. Yeah,

Wendy Bronfein  01:41

there’s a lot going there’s a lot that’s hit right now in the summer. Across all formats, like the Dixie Elixirs, which have been only available to MediCal patients are now available to adult use. And these kind of mini almost like the size of like a five hour energy bottle. So quick drinks, their

Nestor J. Aparicio  01:59

new photo shots and Dundalk when I was a kid. Yeah, I

Wendy Bronfein  02:03

was just avoiding using that word.

8

Nestor J. Aparicio  02:05

But you know, what if the ubiquitous part of seeing the five hour energies now at Royal farms, check out you know, why is Mark whenever you’re checking out, you see the little containers of a drink, right? So the fact that this can be made into gummies bombs, elixirs. The drink part of it is like a part of the market that I’d never really thought much about, right. I mean, I guess I’d seen it maybe in California or something years ago. But it’s not something where I see it in Maryland. Yeah,

Wendy Bronfein  02:38

I mean, I was out to dinner with somebody on Saturday night who had one. And rather than ordering a drink, they asked for a glass of ice, and then, you know, pulled it out of their bag and just poured it over and sat there and just drank it. That was their beverage that they still drank while other people had cocktails. And I was like, Well, that’s an idea. Somewhere

Nestor J. Aparicio  02:57

there. There’s a person of my age now that my silver is coming in stinking riuniti on ice. That’s nice. Windy, Brian fine. He’s here. We tried to do educational stuff here. And I think part of the the biggest issue was all the stigma and all the years where it couldn’t be talked about couldn’t be researched. Now, obviously, we had the press United States talking about scheduling and all these things, that the fascinating part for you and a year into this and talking about these things, is that there’s products that come out and this was the one that’s caught my eye so when I’ve talked the most about and I would say for me on an efficacy if I’m filling out the form. And by the way, I’m filling out the Orioles fan survey this week. So if I had to fill out the curio survey of using things that are not flower related or anything that would be sort of old world more much more on the science side. The move product for me is where I would begin this is one that you had hit me about because you know I’m a writer you know I’m creative you know, I don’t want to sit and watch a movie. I’m not passive i i like to be stimulated but I also like to be focused and not all over the place in high right. So you recommended this good day to me a couple of months ago, and the inch thick it says THC, which I’m still I’m a grown up and I’m not a scientist I’m still trying to understand thc v and now this comes in a flower form at least I saw my email and I’m like, I’m gonna talk to Wendy about this this week. But But more than that, just understanding its thc v concept and something that you know, I don’t think anybody was familiar with 10 years ago around here. No,

Wendy Bronfein  04:36

8

so everyone knows THC that’s the most popular cannabinoid that’s in the plant. I would say the other one that’s very popular is CBD CBD falls into a grouping that are called minor cannabinoids. So you got CBD CBG CBN thc v is another one of those. So it’s not it’s all this group is not giving You really psychoactivity they’re giving you so they’re all giving you other effects. And so the THCV seems to show effects that have to do with mood, uplifting energy, focus, alertness. And so the way that that Chu is is more of something that you could use in the day to feel like, up ready to go on your game, so to speak, without feeling like wired or anything like that. And there’s not a lot of THCV flour out there. And we have prerolls coming out now that are high THC V with some THC in them, but the THC is very low relative to how people think about THC. So it’s sort of the same, I would call it functional idea as the chew. But if you are a smoker, and particularly if you like a pre roll, this is a great product, I think it’s really well aligned to this time of year, you know, taking a walk, being on the beach, doing stuff, get, you know, getting through your weekend. I mean, I’m very excited for it, because I like the idea of the something that’s a pre roll, but also like more functional like that is that useful is really great.

Nestor J. Aparicio  06:14

I would just say as this has come online, and the education moves from my wife having cancer now 10 and a half years ago, on her birthday today, and she really does appreciate the 25% off birthday thing, which I didn’t even know about. It’s just hey, you’re talking to Wendy on the show today. It’s my birthday, tell her I got a. So that’s another thing, that you have a rewards program, you’ve only steaks, but these kinds of products. And in the beginning, it felt to me, especially if you were going to Colorado or Washington places that were open. There was this race on the percentages, right? And it wasn’t even hybrid sativa or indica in the early days. It was just sort of like, can you how high can we go? You know, 30% 35 that as though we’re sort of like how many points on a wine bottle or? Yep. And then as you start to get into this, and certainly my son was somebody that really brought the science part of it to me in regards to terpenes. And I think you were the first place ever that you had these little Terp cards at the front, we always made fun because Terps Terps, Maryland terpenes terpenes. And it was all like six point I needed a magnifying glass to read some of it to put effects on there. But now I start to learn. I had never heard of thc v until, what six months ago, maybe when you when I had our first conversation about it. The whole idea in the beginning, was it the gross stuff that didn’t get you psychoactive, I guess? Or maybe that’s where they thought the market was going to be 10 or 15 years ago, as you came online into this state in the last decade. This is a rare thing because no one wanted me. I’m just trying to understand because it’s been there the whole time. Are we just discovering what it can do and how it can do it without getting you high? Yeah,

Wendy Bronfein  08:01

well, I think people are more and more realizing that there are these like what would I call like quality of life benefits that are there that don’t have to involve the psycho activity. I do think that this pre roll is really interesting, but it is also there’s there’s somewhat of a novelty to it and like RP how interested will people be? And is there a population who both likes to smoke but also is looking for something that at a certain time of day or use or need leans more functional than psychoactive right? I’m one of those people who finds that to be an interesting thing. I’m interested to see how many more people think that way. So

Nestor J. Aparicio  08:40

it’s almost experimental because you don’t know if there’s a market for it to some degree.

8

Wendy Bronfein  08:44

We know that we know that people are very into the thc v category but there we’ve never had a thc v heavy flour before. So yeah, it is it is a learning experience to see how the market responds to having that not just in a shoe, but being able to have it in a flower. Alright,

Nestor J. Aparicio  09:03

so as I sit here drinking royal farms coffee out of my cold coffee mug, I could say sort of like decaf. Is that fair enough to say maybe a little bit? The THCV

Wendy Bronfein  09:14

I guess if you’re saying that you took the psychoactivity out of it. Yeah,

Nestor J. Aparicio  09:18

8

yes. Well, you take the jitters out of coffee coffee tastes good. No problem with that. When he brought fine is here. She is the Chief Brand Officer for all things, curio wellness as well as foreign daughter. You’ve been out on York Road Timonium, just south of there you’ve seen it the seamless signage on the front of your building, as I pull up now as a customer because I got to slow down. I mean, I just didn’t I mean, I’m using this stuff at a rapid rate because I’ve been doing too much stuff. But so much of it is about wellness, about clarity about what you want to get out of the product and what you’re looking to do and I think a lot of it began with Sleep and try and we have products for that as well, I have a good night product or I haven’t opened this it’s not sleeping is not my issue, right? It’s more, my wife would be more of a sleeping person than I. But I think for people that come in there, this has grown well beyond sativa hybrid indica flower flower. I mean, there’s so many more things you guys are doing at this point. And I think that that’s where you guys are focused as a company is rolling out things that do have some interesting uses above and beyond what we knew was flower. Oh,

Wendy Bronfein  10:32

absolutely. I mean, I look, flowers still remained the most popular form. And in most mature markets, it takes a long time for the it’s a sort of be topped off by any other format. But I think people often have may have been having like flour plus, right and, and for those who don’t want flour, there are many ways to use it or consume it that don’t have to do with anything that you inhale, and you still can get the same benefits. And I think we’ve discussed this before where sometimes depending on what you’re trying to achieve, flower might or, or inhalation as well might not be the right path because it will come on faster, but it will fall off quicker. And so having something like a chew or even the topicals can give you effects for a more sustained period of time.

Nestor J. Aparicio  11:22

Also, you have a newer product and a chew that is a faster onset. I think one of the obviously frustrations of sort of the long acting was like, when’s it going to hit me it’s like a scene in a movie saying, okay, an hour, hour and a half, 20 minutes, depending on what I ate, how much my fat intake. And again, I always go back to this because I did have, you can laugh about this. But you’ve sponsored the crabcake tour, I had my science teacher from high school on and he showed just how little I know about science, right. So the the onset of this really was brought on by what you would have in your body and how much fat you had whether you’re, you’re on empty or full. You have a product now that is much more faster onset that would say, at a concert before you watch a movie before you go to bed. Hmm,

Wendy Bronfein  12:11

yeah, that the fast acting two has a specific emotion process to it that is allowing it to have its onset occur more earlier than a traditional show. And yeah, so if there is that if there whether it’s like a lifestyle need or a therapeutic need for you to sense those feelings sooner, then that’s a good place to start. Now that’s that’s only a THC product. So you’re not going to get anything that has the minor cannabinoids in it, or any of the terpene choose. But if you’re looking for a straight THC, that’s a great place for something that where you’re going to have this assurance of I know this is starting to feel now. And I think with any edible, it’s the weather, I guess you’re new or not, there’s an importance to understanding kind of, there’s, there’s a time when you if you kind of have the awareness in your body, it’s actually coming on, there’s a difference between when it starts and when you like, fully feel it like if you have like the bell curve of it. So sometimes when people notice it, it’s like, really at the peak of it when it was actually sort of coming on before and you weren’t really aware of some of the things that you were feeling that were actually the beginnings of the onset? Why

8

Nestor J. Aparicio  13:29

shouldn’t everybody go slow, right? Let’s start with that go slow. There’s a five milligram or 25 milligram never, never confused them. By all means. The lines you have we’ve talked about our friend happy Eddie and I still gotta get him on. But the Edie Parker was something that I saw on the 420 sale. And it’s something I’ve seen in the store. And it’s something that trends sort of feminine, like the packaging is sort of softer, and I’ll tell me about that line and what it first off. I know there’s a happy Eddie I met the guy. Okay, I dined with him one night. Is there an Ed Parker, I was trying to understand the the Ed Parker branding. So

Wendy Bronfein  14:12

Edie Parker is a female founder founded brand, it actually began as a fashion brand. And the she made handbags and accessories and then migrated to this line flower by Edie Parker, which sometimes is referred to as weedy Parker, but there is both a flower offering that exists so you can buy a so you can buy pre rolls that she calls best buds, and you can buy disposable vapes that each it’s an indica hybrid sativa. There’s a there’s sort of a traditional line and then actually right now in summer, there’s some limited time offering flavors that are out just for summer, and all the vapes have a flavor to them. So unlike the traditional line, the indica is a Lavender Vanilla um There’s like a mango flavor. So you have different options if you’re looking for more of the, the, the nice palette vape versus the traditional cannabis flavored vape. But the other part of the line is that there she does a ton of cannabis accessories which we do sell in our store as well. And they’re very fun and they’re very irreverent like, there’s an ashtray that looks like a Friday, there’s a lighter that says big, big weedy instead of big red and it looks like a pack of big red gum. It’s really kind of fun irreverence stuff. Well,

Nestor J. Aparicio  15:34

I wasn’t sure if if it was your design caucus because it’s very designed. I mean, it’s cool, it’s fun to look at I’ll just say that I noticed that when I’m in the store, but I also noticed it as being targeted. You know more on the feminine side just by the way it looks.

Wendy Bronfein  15:50

8

Yeah, I mean she given that the brand started and continues to be a handbag brand as well. They make a very cool hat they make a couple of different handbags that are lean towards the cannabis side, but they make a very cool one called the burn bag where on the side of of the bag similar to like a dog leash that’s like retractable, there is a retractable unit for your lighter so like your lighter goes in this holster and if you were to take it out to use it, you can’t you won’t lose it because it whips back into your purse James Bond

Nestor J. Aparicio  16:24

Jake very James Bond, Jane Bond in this in this case. I first got smart I guess would be 99 and 86. When the fraud fine is here. She’s our chief cannabis officer always educate us. Hey, you’ve been through the ballpark. I you know we’ve we’ve had to play really good, but I’m wearing my oriental stuff here. You guys. You have the orange stuff going on here. You sent me to the ballpark you threatened to send me by the way this week I had Bill cold on and we ran Vegas, we’re telling stories and it always comes back to Orioles, this ravens that are you know whatever’s going on locally, Preakness couple of weeks ago, as well. And I said to him, I said, I Dude, we are going to a game together. They’re really good. They’re not going to be good forever new owner, all that stuff. What are we going to go to the game he’s like, You know what, I really liked to go. I like to go to those business people specials. And I’m like, Oh, those are the hardest. The ones nobody wants to get that now I can gather friends for such a thing. So the Oriole thing that’s added some fun with it. I know. I know. Your loved one is falling in love with the team, right?

Wendy Bronfein  17:24

Oh, yeah. Yes, I think was yesterday. I had he asked me to He’s four. He asked me to put hair potion, which I didn’t know he knew that in and he likes me to take the back and he refused a haircut so it could get longer and wants me to flip it like gunner is very into this look, and I

Nestor J. Aparicio  17:47

gotta meet your kid, man. You know, because like, I honestly I remember being five years old, you’ll laugh at me. I know you’re gonna laugh at me. But I’m gonna tell you this. Anyway, I admit stuff to you and like bilk people that I’m friends with in the real world who were so when I was a kid, I went to get a haircut. I was like five years old. And I took the Partridge Family Album and I wanted David Cassidy’s hair. It’s from the one where they had to school Boston, and I still see that picture to this day. And now I have like air I could probably do it. And you know, do some sort of Jimmy Fallon throwback video. Come on down and beat everybody, you know, but it is amazing. Like when you are your kids gonna want long hair. The rest of us now it’s in, your kid’s gonna be long. It’s gonna be like to test the song. We have to pull the hair up under the hat. Imagine that right? Yeah,

8

Wendy Bronfein  18:33

I, I was. I think we’re The Game Two weeks ago. I think that’s when we were there.

Nestor J. Aparicio  18:39

That have you taken the little one to the game? We were

Wendy Bronfein  18:43

he went. He went? I think maybe at the beginning of the month. That was we went to one of the Sundays when you kids can run the bases. Did you

Nestor J. Aparicio  18:51

8

run the bases? He did. Watch market is our sponsor, they sponsor that I tell her all the time. I’m like, that’s so much fun. And as a kid, it’s something we never got to do. You know, all the time. I was on that field. One time before I was a reporter in 86. I was like 716 or 17 when I had my first press credential, so I was young on the field. But like as a kid, I won the pitch hit and run competition. Tom McCann used to sponsor it, I want it in Patterson park and I got a plaque and part of winning the local was you went to the regional and you got the to, like hit on the field and run on the field. At Memorial Stadium was Saturday when the team was out of town. I stopped I lost I didn’t get the big data and get to go to the All Star game or things that but I got to do it. And I don’t know anybody who’s our age or anything like that, that has a picture of them on the field. And the reason we’re doing this like a decade, you know, so there’s like a whole generation now of you know, kids in college who have pictures of them running the bases. That matters a lot and every time I talk about fixing the team and how we’re going to build a team and all of that, your boy has to love them. That’s the love and I love that you’re I like talking about it because people think I negative about this and that I’m like, no, no, no, I want everyone so your kids more apt to maybe play baseball and lacrosse maybe. Maybe

Wendy Bronfein  20:09

he got really upset with me the other day I guess a friend in class was doing some sort of peewee baseball or something and mentioned it and then he said if he wanted to and I said well, we can do it next year and he was like, why don’t want to do it when I’m five and I was like, trying to explain the baseball is like a season and like it already started. You can’t join now so just practice now right? But that was not good enough. Oh, he has his little batting gloves and T ball stuff. Yeah.

Nestor J. Aparicio  20:34

Oh man, she This is cool. This is this is as much fun as educating me about cannabis and about all things wellness carrier wellness is available for everybody at this good carrier wellness.com There was a point you need a medical card now does adult use please be of the age and please do all of this stuff responsibly and educate yourself as to things like when you shake your rump with Mick Jagger all night long, and then you walk Manhattan and get stuck in a rainstorm and then sit still for three days? You might need a product like this when you get to be my age? Because it helps that’s all I can say. So it did I cover everything we got to talk vapes next week and stuff because we I know we were gonna do a little bit of that but you guys are always rolling out new stuff. And it is my wife’s birthday she’s gonna get her 25% off so the rewards program you’re doing explain that because literally this will help me my wife hasn’t been in the shop like work 24 For 20 So signing up if you’re already medical in our Am I already in the program without knowing I’m in the program or how does the curio rewards work?

Wendy Bronfein  21:44

So there’s two different rewards things so when you shop it our dispensaries like most dispensaries there’s like a loyalty program or rewards program you get points and you can redeem them curio rewards is applies to the products that are made by us that you buy and you can buy in any dispensary. So on those products, there’s a QR code when you scan it, it will prompt you to open up to lucid idea that’s the name of the QR code that’s on there and you quickly make an account and then it captures the amount of points that product has the point value is equal to the MSRP of the product. And then there’s a wallet where you can see what you collect and then there’s a rewards redemption so here in Maryland, you can redeem them for a series of different types of custom merch items you can get grinders vape batteries, storage cases fanny packs, JBL speakers all kinds of different stuff or you can turn them in for credit to use at one of our two stores here in Maryland as well. all

8

Nestor J. Aparicio  22:43

that cool stuff going on Paris helps you guys with right yeah, yeah, yeah, well she all like cool Maryland stuff. That’s all available Correct.

Wendy Bronfein  22:52

I don’t know if we have I don’t think we have anything in the Maryland that stuff is on our website when you go to shop merch has all of the Maryland specific stuff. Yeah,

Nestor J. Aparicio  23:01

well, you know, I was telling someone when I was traveling last week, I have this Maryland flag thing on my bags on my handle like little grips that we put and we’re you know anything with a Maryland flag we’re all about and I always see that stuff in your place. When he brought us on is our chief cannabis officer to educate us here on a weekly basis about all things cannabis, and some things help you sleep better, maybe help you gut work a little bit better. In addition to all the education available at curio, wellness.com also sponsoring our 25th anniversary and putting us out on the road, the Maryland crabcake tours kind of going everywhere this month. The list is so long, I’ve gotten kind of like convoluted and all that but let me give it to you real real quick. We’re going to be Cooper’s north on Tuesday. We’re going to be at State Fair in Catonsville on Thursday before the Orioles Blue Jays game Geddy Lee shows up for that one. Wednesday, June 12. We’re going to be Coco’s pub and Lara Ville Friday the 14th We’re back with Cooper’s but we’re going to be at Fells Point for the Fleet Week and the flyovers that are happening all the noise downtown and all the fun of Fleet Week at the Inner Harbor to 20th We’re Costas and Dundalk. We’ll be talking about the bridge and all that and enjoying some crabs and crabcakes. Before the Orioles destroy the Yankees that day. At four o’clock that is Thursday the 20th and the 25th We’re at Pappas in Parkville. Very, very aggressive crabcake towards schedule all the brought to you by our friends at the Maryland lottery in conjunction with Liberty pure solutions in our clean water as well as Jiffy Lube, multi care, our friend security wellness putting this out and making me at some point I’ll be able to sit down again when I get this move product couple of my hip as I’m getting through all this thing. Planet Fitness get me back into shape. I am Nestor we are wn st am 5070, Towson, Baltimore. Happy Summer to everybody go watch the Orioles game. Show yourself. We’re Baltimore positive.com
