Inspired by Zeke’s Coffee roaster and taste maker Thomas Rhodes, every Friday morning a group of Lauraville locals drop by for a cup and a round table of neighborhood chatter and conviviality. The Maryland Crab Cake Tour plopped down for a morning edition with local pundit Dan Rodricks, cartoonist Ricig and coffee and democracy chatter over breakfast.

On July 13, 1985 the world experienced a television super concert that has never been replicated. Live Aid was a famine relief effort for Africa, which began with a Bob Geldof song and a “Feed The World” mantra that returns every Christmas. On the 40th Anniversary of a day made famous by so many bands and artists over the years, Nestor gathered his two brotherly pals, Richard and David Abrahams, who traveled to London to see the show at Wembley Stadium while he was in Philadelphia at JFK Stadium, writing a long-forgotten review of the concert that was unearthed. Let them share memories and show and tell pictures and mementos of their experiences four decades later…

The ninth day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland featured a morning drive around Deep Creek Lake and an adventure north through the rolling hills of Pennsylvania past Ohiopyle, Falling Water and on to bucolic Latrobe to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers participate in one of the final old-school training camp days still remaining in the NFL.
The only thing “gold” in his closet is the new Royal Farms “Chickenpalooza” shirt so Nestor wore it to Latrobe on a bucket list trip to see Pittsburgh Steelers training camp behind enemy lines with old friends.
