It’s been far too long since we’ve properly told the amazing story of Helping Up Mission and were delighted that Dan Stoltzfus dropped by Koco’s Pub on “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl” to discuss what happened with the two bags of donations Nestor left last summer at the doors of one of the venerable institutions that stands for what it says: helping people up.
The mission of B & Dee’s Baltimore Love is to provide hot meals and groceries to those in need in the city and Tramour WIlson brings his passion to Nestor at Koco’s Pub in Lauraville for “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl” to tell the whole story of their Sandtown community group and how you can help.
The good folks at Share Baby distribute items to needy mothers and fathers for babies in Baltimore. Nadya Dutchin joins Nestor at Costas Inn in Timonium for “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl” week and educates us on pampering and parenting needs for toddlers and helping families in our city.
There’s not much you won’t do for your dog but we all know the stories of what others have done to lose care of their animals and Erin Scott of Bmore Dog is here to educate, support and provide help for dog lovers in under-served communities. She joined Nestor for “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl” at El Guapo in Catonsville and emphasized the importance of teaching pet owners and children about animal care and safety.
Our childhood friend and defending champion of awesomeness Trish Woodward of Camp Opportunity returns as an annual staple of “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl” to bring Nestor current on an extra week of summer love for kids in need of a chance and ways that you can help her help the children.
The local teachers and helpers powering up Empower4Life provide educational and resource programs for children experiencing homelessness, including partnering with shelters and schools. Meet Robin Emrick, who tells Nestor the incredible story of Ann’s Toy Closet in Essex and holiday joy for children and struggling parents in East Baltimore County.
Our final stop for “A Cup Of Soup Or Bowl Week” was at Kooper’s North in May Chapel, named after a dog, so it was appropriate that Kate Bell brought Nestor her safety story of true love for senior dogs. Reed’s Rescue, whose mission is to provide care for older dogs, often overlooked in shelters, by placing them in foster homes and finding them adoptive families, was named after a dog named “Reed,” whose name was inspired by a certain Baltimore Ravens’ Hall of Famer.
