Some members of our Baltimore Positive community have been told to “stick to sports” in recent months so we thought with Baltimore Ravens season approaching and the Baltimore Orioles lease running out in two years, it was time to talk about the games we play as a community and the future of the city and stadia and arenas.

Paul Tiburzi is the current chairman of the Greater Baltimore Committee but also spent many years working with the Maryland Sports and Entertainment Commission to bring soccer matches and a potential World Cup series to Baltimore in 2026 as FIFA brings the biggest tournament in the world to the United States.

This finale of our three chats with Tiburzi in Episode 37 drills down on the future of the Orioles and Ravens and all of the assets we have a community with sports and the downtown business district. We all know how important Camden Yards was in establishing downtown Baltimore almost 30 years ago but now our conversation turns to the future with a man who has seen it all in the local sports business – including his passion for soccer and background in Highlandtown.
