Welcome home. We are W, N, S T tous, Baltimore. Am 1570 Baltimore, positive. We encourage you to come out to our website. Read our work, listen to us. Find us out on the YouTubes. Find us out on the interwebs. He is Baltimore, Luca. I am me on LinkedIn and Instagram and all those other places we are preparing for Game Two battle. Game One did not go well. Hopefully I tell you what, the pizza is going to be delicious. Next Friday doesn’t matter gonna be pizza John’s. It is Luke’s birthday. This week is my birthday. Next week, we are gathering next Friday at Pizza John’s. I’ll have the Raven scratch offs to get away from the Maryland lottery. Our friends at Jiffy Lube, multi care, power this up. Get Luke back and forth to the ballpark. We will not have Raven’s coverage for as long as the Orioles are in because Chad Steele does not allow me into Owings Mills. And Luke’s going to be detained today with Mr. Ein and game two. Game One did not go well, and they did not hit the ball, Luke, we’ve talked a lot about Corbin burns, and was that his last start? And how much money is it going to be to keep it? To keep him? And you better not not have him for 2628 30 starts, or a dude like him, and certainly, uh, Zach Eflin, Game Two is going to try to save them. But I mean, game one, if we’re we’d sit here all day and talk about nothing, because that the offense produced nothing. And this, you know, this a trend. This is, this is who they are. The last 60 to 90 days they have not hit the ball well. And if I would have told you last week they’re going to take a two game facer and have 11 hits and score a run or two in two games, you’d say, oh, that sort of sounds like the Arlington thing last year. Yeah.

Luke Jones  01:37

Well, I mean, as I wrote a Baltimore positive.com I mean, the October Orioles in game one looked a lot like the second half ones that we watched. And look, I mean, the offense wasn’t terrible the entire second half of the season. I mean, there’s been a lot of hyperbole. And I’m not saying you I just in general with the frustration of a team that was 500 but it was very feast or famine. They’d have some stretches where, okay, they’re looking like the first half Orioles again and then go away again. And they certainly had their issues scoring with runners in scoring position all second half. You know, on on Tuesday, despite how dominant Cole Reagan’s was at time, how at times, how good he was at times, it’s not as though they didn’t have opportunities. They were one for seven with runners in scoring positions. Some of those came against Reagan’s. They had some, a couple more moments, a couple examples where that we can get into, where I think the base running left something to be desired. That could have, could have made a difference in a really low scoring game. I mean, the little things like that are big things in a one nothing game. So but it comes back to look at the All Stars in this lineup, Gunner Henderson, Jordan westburg, Anthony Santander, Adley rutschman. The first three each had an opportunity with a runner in scoring position and didn’t come through. Adley rutschman was zero for four. You need your stars to be stars on the grandest stage. And you just said it, we spent so much time over the course of the season talking about the pitching, whether we were talking about the the attrition and the injuries and the starting rotation, whether it was me banging the table about the bullpen needing to be better. Neither one of those issues were an issue on Tuesday whatsoever. They didn’t hit the ball, and we’ve talked about that increasingly as the year went on, but we talked about it in terms of, you know, it being a non starter if this team were to make a deep October run, and that still applies. The season’s not over, it’s one game, but you might only have one more game if you don’t take care of business. You will only have one more game if you don’t take care of business. We said it over and over, if this team’s going to make the kind of run that they envision themselves making, that everyone hopes and expects and wants them to make, they have to hit the ball. You have this lineup of hitters that have been drafted developed in the case of Anthony Santander Rule five pick once upon a time under Dan Duquette even. So they have all these guys, and they got shut out on Tuesday and again, Cole Reagan’s is great. I was saying that as much as anyone you know don’t, don’t just completely start celebrating because they they avoid Eric scuba. I mean, Cole Reagan’s isn’t school, but he’s not as far behind as you think when you really start to look at the numbers. He was, he was great, but you got to do more. He got to score a couple runs. I mean, Corbin burns could have pitched a shutout, and you’re still going to have to score one run to win. They didn’t do that. So we can talk about little things or whether they should have pitched to Bobby wit or this or that over the course of nine innings, but when you don’t score a single run, you’re burying the lead, if you dwell on anything else. And it’s the simple fact. That their offense came up extremely small in the first game of a best of three series, and now they find themselves on the brink, as a result of it, the

Nestor Aparicio  05:09

Zach Eflin acquisition and trading deadline. And, you know, I don’t think we use the word desperation, because they were like a playoff team. You’re like, they’re going to the playoffs no matter what, but pretty desperate situation for the team. If you’re really writing over the history of the sport and following this for 50 years in Baltimore, it’s pretty desperate situation when you’re really good, you had a good first half, and all the arms fall off right like and you know, on July 28 you’re not going to throw Suarez and Kramer in games one and two, you know. And you needed to go get some pitching, especially when Rodriguez fell apart. I mean, Bradish and means, were kind of long gone. By then, they were long gone. In May the acquisition of efflon, if they’re still playing baseball Saturday night in New York, let’s just say, I mean, let’s talk optimistically, because they could see it ain’t over, as Yogi Berra would say, It ain’t over, um, but the reason it won’t be over is because Zach effel is going to have to do something, I’ll say supernatural, but he’s going to have to be his best version of himself. There’s a John Harbaugh, uh, isn’t for you there, um, and picking him up and beating up Elias about this, that whatever. I mean, if you get a beat Elias up, or any of these people beat beat them up at training and guys arms falling off, but that’s an industry issue, so I don’t know that you can individual, individually select the Orioles and say they get their players hurt more. They certainly have had bad mojo with whatever happened with Westbrook Mateo. You read any of these guys that got hurt toward the end of the year it will end not to mention rushman, who I’ll throw him in, is playing hurt, because I’m not convinced that this is him, the effluent acquisition looms large today if you’re heading down to the ballpark. No question about

Luke Jones  06:57

8

it. I mean, as I wrote in my 12 Orioles thoughts going into this series. I thought Zach Eflin was truly the pivotal figure here. I mean, I think, and I was working under the assumption, not that I assumed they were going to win game one, because you don’t assume anything in October, right? The other team’s good too. I mean, that was, that was kind of coal Reagan’s line during the workout day when he met with the media in the bowels of Camden Yards, where he said it’s the playoffs. Everyone’s good. So So you understand that. You don’t want to make any assumptions, but I think as it pertained to the makeup of this rotation, and having lost Kyle Bradish and John means and Tyler wells and then Grayson Rodriguez, going down in early August with what ended up being a season ending latch strain. Zach efland became that much more important. I mean, when you acquired him, the thought was, hey, he’s a number three starter for you. Maybe a number two, depending on how you wanted to do that. And of course, he had the shoulder inflammation the second half of August. But this guy was great. He had a 2.6 era for the Orioles in nine starts to conclude the season, he missed more bats with the Orioles than he did with Tampa Bay over the first three and a half, four months of the season. Now he looked a lot like the guy that he was last year, which was someone who, you know, received some some votes in the Cy Young voting. You know what? I think finished sixth, right, kind of right behind Kyle Bradish in that hierarchy a year ago, but he’s been really, really good. And yeah, they’re going to need him. I’m not expecting him to throw eight innings of one run ball, because your offense better score some runs on Wednesday or then it’s over and we’ll be talking about the offense all winter long. But they need him to be big, but I will continue. It’s more than that, and we need to spend more time talking about this. Their stars on offense need to step up. You know, they need these guys to step up. And I hear what you’re saying about Adley rutschman. He says he’s fine. Now, I also have my doubts about it, like you, but it’s a major problem either way, because is it bad? Still count?

Nestor Aparicio  09:04

Yeah, Notice James McCann’s, by the way, so throw that in, sure, right? Sure, well,

Luke Jones  09:09

but also say James McCann was better at the plate than Adley rutschman in the second half. Let that marinate for a moment. I mean, this is the one one guy, by the way, the guy that they didn’t draft one one in 2019 got the only run scoring hit of the game, is a guy that’s going to be second place in MVP voting and would be a slam dunk MVP this year, if not for the fact that Aaron judge existed. I mean, that’s how great Bobby Witt Jr has been. And look, this isn’t about to to go back and spend half an hour on a referendum of that decision, you never know, right? I mean, you always have the benefit of hindsight, but Adley rutschman Can’t Be This player moving forward. My goodness, he was awful in the second half. Everything anyone has said about Adley rutschman in the second half has not stated how clearly a. How awful he was in the second half of the season. I hope he I said this to you the other day. I’ll reiterate it, because it’s that important. I hope he is injured, because if he’s not, then forget about Corbin burns. Forget about whatever pitching you’re going to add. Forget about what other bats you might add. You got Trevor Lawrence problem. She’s what you have got to fix your All Star catcher, right? You’ve got to fix the guy that’s supposed to be the face of this, even though gunner Henderson has basically become the face of this. And that’s that’s a good thing that that happened. That means gunner Henderson was amazing as a draft pick, but Hadley rutschman was awful in the second half of the season. I mean, if we’re really being truthful here, and really looking at it really in terms of not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings. It’s kind of a joke that he was, he served as a designated hitter on Tuesday. Guy’s been a 200 hitter since late June. I mean, it’s just the truth. So I hear you, and I would be shocked if, if there isn’t a physical issue, and that doesn’t mean it excuses it entirely, but it would help explain it, because this is so much more than a slump that he’s gone through over the last three months. And we can talk about so many other issues, whether we’re talking about the pitching injuries or issues in the bullpen or missing Jordan westburg. And look, we’ve talked about that, and I’m not saying that that that hasn’t been a factor, but we went, we spent so much time. And when I say we, not just me and you, but a lot of people talking about the Orioles in the second half and struggling, and their lineup not looking the way that, frankly, it looked over the first three months and the way it looked for most of last year. We buried the lead Adley rutschman, supposed to be your best or your second best player, and he was a replacement level player over the second half of the season. He wasn’t 2018 19, Chris Davis, bad, but he was closer to that than being a guy that gets MVP votes. Let’s be clear. So I mean, that was, it’s alarming how bad he was in the second half of the season. And look, I’m not I know we’re talking about game one. And look, Anthony Santander had a chance late in the game. He was their most clutch performer in those those spots this year didn’t come through. You know, we can talk about some of the base running. Mean, Cedric Mullins, who had two hits, he admired his towering shot off the out of town scoreboard. I’m not guaranteeing he winds up at third base, but he had a shot to be at third base if he runs right out of the box. Ramon Arias was gifted a double on just a butcher of a play by left fielder MJ Melendez, and winds up at second base. He didn’t get a great read on that Mullen single to right center. Look, Arias is slow. Let’s be clear, I’m not at all going to make the assumption and definitively say yes, he would have scored had he gotten a great read, but it’s at least an option then if he’s at third base, and maybe you do send him in that spot. But again, those are little things, and it still comes back to you got to get a hit with runners in scoring position. But there were two examples of some base running that I think could have been better. Those were little things that are big things. There are no little things in the postseason, especially in a one nothing game. So, so, you know, it’s just, it’s frustrating, because we’re talking about all star players. And look, when I express the want to say it’s outrage, it’s more I’m alarmed, I’m baffled. I’m completely mystified. I’m completely I don’t even have the words. I’m so perplexed over what we’ve seen from Adley rutschman that, yeah, it feels like, How could it not be some kind of a physical issue? Because we’re talking about someone who, other than his first month in the majors, when you know Adley, like many players, we’ve seen it with the Orioles, but it happens everywhere. Struggled his first month of his major league career, but what we’ve seen in July, August, September, three months in a row, those have been his three worst months in the majors. If you take out his initial month in you know, the late May and into early June with the Orioles back in 2022 so how does that happen? Got what gunner Henderson had in August was a slump. Go back and look at gunners August. It wasn’t great, but you know what his slump was? His slump was he was barely, just a smidge over league average for a month. Now, that’s bad for gunner Henderson’s standards, but that’s a slump. What Adley rutschman has been, which has been a bottom five hitter among qualified batters in Major League Baseball since July 1. That’s way more than a slump. So, yeah, I’m dwelling on him a little more, because that’s been something we’ve seen for three plus months now, but it’s all of them. I mean, you know, you need gunner had a chance to come through, and he struck out, you know, what, with Cedric Mullins or no, that was later in the game. That was with first and third. He struck out to end the fifth inning. Like I said, Santander really had their last best chance, where they had two guys. On in that bottom of the eighth inning, and Lucas airsick comes in and ends up recording a four out save, but he came in with two outs in the eight there. You know, westburg hit the long, the long drive to left field. I mean, at some point in time, we need to stop dwelling on the fact that the wall is where it is. Because, you know, not, not too long after that, Salvador Perez hit a ball deep left field that would have been a home run with the old dimensions. So you know, some of my media brethren, at some point, we need to stop dwelling on the fact that the left field wall was moved back. We’re three seasons into that, and it’s not changing, man. I mean, maybe it’ll be a happy medium at some point, but they’re certainly not going back to the old dimensions. But you know, the point is, I just named some of their best players on offense who didn’t do anything on on Tuesday, so Corbin Burns is great. The bullpen wasn’t even an issue, right? I mean, I’ve talked about the bullpen so much. The bullpen had nothing to do with the outcome of game. One. Gotta score some runs. It’s that simple. And they’ve got to do it against Seth Lugo today. And if they don’t, their season’s over. And if they do if they are able to do it, and they are able to win and force a game three, they’re gonna have to do it against Michael Walker, who had a really good year, so you gotta hit the ball. Last October, they didn’t hit. They did hit in game two. They didn’t hit in game one or game three. You know, their their pitching took a face plant in games two and three, but they didn’t hit. You got to hit. You’ve got to perform. You’ve got to come through, especially when you’re talking about your studs, your your guys that are all stars, your guys that are above average players. And they didn’t do that on Tuesday. I get it, it’s one game, it’s baseball season’s not over, but you there is no tomorrow. If you lose today, the time for patience will be in the off season. If that happens, so it’s now or never. You got to swing the bats. You got to come out and score some runs early. Put some pressure on a Kansas City team that I didn’t touch on this too much because I didn’t really get a chance with you having listened to them on Monday for their workout day, they’ve got a good vibe going right now. I mean, this is a team that had a 30 game improvement. This is where the Orioles were a couple years ago. And, you know, we saw what kind of second half they had in 22 bobby with a no, no better,

Nestor Aparicio  17:12

right? You know, literally. And then we were his first playoff game with a big hit, literally, right? Yeah. I

8

Luke Jones  17:19

mean, the Orioles, remember, they they were so good from about June on and 22 and they rolled that into a 101 win season the following year. I mean, the Royals are on that track. I’m not saying they’re invincible, not saying the Orioles can’t win these next two games, but they’re feeling good right now. So the best thing you can do is jump on Seth Luco for a couple runs early in this game. If you do that then, not that you exhale, because you’re not fine when you’re trying to stave off elimination and you’re on the brink of your season being over. But that would certainly make everyone feel better, and that would certainly put Zach Eflin in a better spot, you know, if you can stake him to an early to nothing lead in the first or second inning. So we’re gonna see. But they didn’t hit. Like I said, I mentioned a couple of those base running. I don’t want to go as far as saying drastic errors that definitely would have changed the outcome. But, you know, Mullins, I think could have wound up on third base there if he’s running right out of the box. I think Arias maybe has a chance to score if he gets a better read. And that wasn’t the easiest read, let me be clear. I mean, that was a a line drive that hung up going in the right center a little bit. You know, that’s not the easiest read in the world. And he is a he is slow footed. I mean, he’s not one of their faster runners, but if he gets a better read, I think you’ve got a chance. It’s on the table to send him there. At the very least, he didn’t get a good read, and then you have no chance. And still, they didn’t get a hit, right? I mean, ultimately, we could keep talking about these little things here or there, but they didn’t have great bats. Luke, you know what I mean, like, I mean, that’s, I

Nestor Aparicio  18:52

mean, you know, like getting a runner on working counts. I mean, Reagan’s was throwing these, I remind him. McGregor, the ball was hitting. The ball hit the plate when McCann struck out like but the ball didn’t even cross the strike zone that he had them so can he was lost. Yeah, and I think bad at bats is what I’ve seen a lot of the last 90 days. Collectively, sure, bad at bats to not chase good pitchers to not work counts to, quite frankly, swing it more balls than they were swinging at the first 90 day. They swing it too many balls. They don’t take enough pitches. I think that there is once they started losing there’s been a not urgency, there’s been a yippiness. There’s been a a lack of of patience, in a general sense across the board, that they don’t have score runners and scores, and then when they do, they don’t have a good at bat there. The the lobs are really, yeah, they have really stacked up here the last 90 days. I.

Luke Jones  20:00

Well, I mean, they haven’t been good with runners in scoring position. And you know one thing I’ll push back on slightly. I mean, their walk rate. Did it improve them in the second half of the season? I think they had good at bats, but they couldn’t string them together, right? I mean, even though, even if you look at the course of the first few innings, the first inning, they had some good at bats. I mean, they made Reagan’s throw some pitches, but then you get into the second inning, and you know, I’m pulling up the game log right now, just to kind of give you an idea here. Second inning, Mount Castle, first pitch swinging. Rutschman strikes out. You know what was up? One Oh, in the count. And then three straight strikes. Cows are first pitch swinging single, so, okay, worked out there. And then Arias first first pitch swinging buys out third inning. Mullins, first pitch, swinging double. Okay, we talked about that. Wish he had run out of the box. Maybe could have wound up on third base. McCann, as much as we were just picking on him, actually did have an eight pitch at bat. So you’re saying, Okay, this is, you know, he struck out, but you know, they’re making Reagan’s work. They’ve got a runner in scoring position. You still have gunner Henderson and Jordan westburg Coming up first pitch swinging, next two guys. Now, westburg walloped that ball to deep left, but it’s an out at home for five years ago. I mean, they had, they it would have been, it would have been again, as I said. I mean, don’t get me started at some point we’ve got to let that go, right? I mean, it also benefits their pitchers too. Let’s be clear, this isn’t as though they push the wall out when the Orioles hit and then it comes back into to pre 2022 levels when the Orioles are on the tricky

Nestor Aparicio  21:29

8

I think Belichick would have tried that if he was a Facebook

Luke Jones  21:34

Yeah, right, right. But, but, like, I like, I just said, I mean, you, you would have a good at that here or there, and you start to make them work, and then it’s first pitch swinging, first pitch swinging, first pitch swinging. I mean, they just couldn’t string anything together in terms of a quality at bat. And again, this goes back to what I said. When you look at the Orioles overall offensive numbers in the second half of the season, it’s not like they were a bottom 10 offense and run scored or anything like that, far from it. But it was just, it was more hot and cold. It was more Jekyll and Hyde. It was more up and down. It was just, it wasn’t consistent. And you know, they’d have a game where they’d score 10 runs and then score eight runs, and you say, all right, they’re starting to get rolling again. This is the team that led the league in slugging percentage in the first half of the season, and then they’d go seven games and, you know, in five of those, they’d score three or less, you know? So it’s just, and some of that is baseball. We know that, right? I mean, you’re not going to score. You’re literally not going to score, even if you’re an offensive averages five and a half runs a game, which in this day and age, would be an absurd in this run scoring environment. That doesn’t mean you’re going to score five plus runs every single night. You’re going to deal with some of that. I am not at all suggest sitting here suggesting that they needed to hang up seven spot on Cole Reagan’s. I was the guy telling you over and over, this guy’s good, this guy’s good, but you can’t get blanked. You got to score it. Scratch a couple runs. They scored two runs in this game. We’re talking, our tone is so unbelievably different. Even though two runs is a great Westport gets under that ball, it’s like it would have been great, literally, I mean that they, to your point, they didn’t hit enough home runs in game one, whatever it was. I mean, whether it’s a home run or a bloop or a bleed or whatever. I mean, they just, they didn’t come through. And again, I get it. Anyone who’s listening, if we were having this conversation in July, you and I would, they’d be sending us to the nut house, because it’s like, how are you guys overreacting to one game? But that that’s the world you’re living in right now. It’s now or never. I mean, especially in the best of three, just be thankful this wasn’t the wild card game, or their season would be over right under that format, we’d be talking about this not like a Baldo hit giving up the home run with Zach Britton still in the bullpen, but, you know, it’d be very close. But I’ll leave you with this because we haven’t mentioned it. And you know, especially as I turned 41 years old this week, today, in fact,

Nestor Aparicio  24:01

a to Luke,

Luke Jones  24:04

act, thank you. Puke, you

8

Nestor Aparicio  24:05

know, like so, yeah, there you go. But eliminate Earth Day that would suck. I hope seven strong today, you know? I mean, come on,

Luke Jones  24:15

but, but this, we were talking about this in the clubhouse as we were kind of waiting for a couple of the guys to talk at their lockers. And we were thinking, you know, when was the last time the Orioles lost a one nothing game in the postseason? Do you remember when it was

Nestor Aparicio  24:30

1974 I was at the game via blue Jim Palmer game that was up the American League Championship Series.

Luke Jones  24:36

8

That was the first time that happened. And

Nestor Aparicio  24:41

Haiti, that’s pretty good. That’s pretty good. By the way, the only 31,000 people there that day, and you and I are going to do our next segment on the crowd, you know, and and Pete. I got to get Pete Rose in here today too, but I just go ahead. When was the last time they lost one? Nothing. Go

Luke Jones  24:57

ahead. Armando Benitez, OH. Slider to Tom Fernandez in the top of the 11th jail that night. And I will just, I mean, I will just say close has

Nestor Aparicio  25:08

ever come to killing anybody. I’m glad you did, but he deserved it.

8

Luke Jones  25:12

Well, you’d be in prison. I was doing the show

Nestor Aparicio  25:17

at Hooters after that, and everybody was drunk, and a guy came up with a 32 ounce glass of water. I don’t even know what was in it, and it was point blank range. Threw it in my face live Radio Post Game after, after 12 innings of that, Alan McCallum and Mark MC Alan Allen and Mark kept me out of prison. Mark specifically, because I chased the guy down. Down it was right in front of harbor place. So I don’t forget one nothing losses in night. I don’t forget Armando Benitez. I don’t forget the strong innings that Mike Messina gave him that day.

Luke Jones  25:47

Well, and look, I was gonna say, I mean, I I turned 14 years old earlier that month, and I was heartbroken, because I was convinced, from, probably from the moment that in that June interleague, first ever interleague series against Atlanta, they go down to Turner Field, and they swept the Braves, who were the best team in the NL, Orioles look like the best team in baseball. I was convinced from that point on, they were winning the World Series. So I was heartbroken in that moment, but, but, and this brings us back to our overall point today, for as much as we all hammer Armando Benitez, and no, he shouldn’t have thrown a slider there. And really, the slider that killed them was game two to Marquise Grissom, because they were on their way to potentially sweeping the Indians before that happened. But they didn’t score a run that day. They were they were blank for 11 innings. So as much as we think of that that game and Armando Benitez hanging a slider. That lineup of all stars that included brandy Anderson and Roberto Alomar and Raphael Palmeiro and Cal Ripken, and go down the list of other very capable hitters. In that order, they got shut out that would that’s why they lost that day. So for Cleveland, it was naggy again, yeah, naggy against Messina, right? I think it was nagging. It has to be. I didn’t, I didn’t officially check that, but we were all thinking it was naggy when we were talking about it in the clubhouse. So it had to be naggy for you to say it too. But they had score. And again, you your pitching can be everything you ask, but if you don’t score a single run, you cannot win a game. There is no such thing as winning a game 00, right? So they got a score. They got a score on two on Wednesday. They got a score on Thursday. And you have to hope that in the process of scoring at least a couple’s only got

Nestor Aparicio  27:35

8

three hits that day. The Orioles had 10 hits in that game.

Luke Jones  27:38

Oh, so many wasted opportunities in that game painful. That’s why I said that game was way more painful

Nestor Aparicio  27:45

than this game. Why are you having me pull this box score up out of all the other box scores that there are, because

Luke Jones  27:50

I got reminiscent. It’s my birthday, and I think about that year was so impressive. Anderson, two

8

for five hours. How about this? Hieronimal baroma had two hits that day. Jerome wall, hey, Hall of Famer, Harold Baines had a hit. One for three. Raphael Palmeiro for three must have been on the bad steroids that day. Ripken was two for three with two walks that day. Dude, Ripken got on base four out of five at bats that in that game. Yeah, struck out the other time. Sir off. Oh, for five. I won’t remind him of that when I see him down to faith Lee’s Chris hoyles, oh, for five. He did give me an all star game ticket Nate in 93 for my friend. So I’m appreciative. I love you, Chris and boardy was two for four. Oh

Luke Jones  28:33

and yeah, great offensive player at that point.

Nestor Aparicio  28:35

They had five walks and 10 hits and didn’t score run, and I’m still talking about it, 27 years later. It’s right, by the way. I don’t get did naggy pitch. I don’t even know. I’m looking, I’m looking, looking, looking. I’m looking. Oh, show pitchers lines. Hold on. Charles Nagy, seven and third, nine hits, three walks, hit, 12 base runners. Paul, awesome. How

many strikeouts did he have? Four? Okay, you know what

Nestor Aparicio  29:08

those? Mike Jackson, an inning, three strikeouts. Brian Anderson, any two strikeouts. Joe table and inning, two strikeouts. So they struck out in the last three innings, seven times. In extra innings, they struck out seven times in the 10th, 11th to 12th inning. And

Luke Jones  29:22

12th inning, good Cleveland bullpen. And that was a very Charles Nagy like line. I mean, that guy was not a dominant pitcher. I mean, he was the kind of guy that was going to scatter hits

Nestor Aparicio  29:31

and Messina eight innings, one hit, two walks, 10 strike at one of the Hall of Fame. Oh, you think they’re Hall of Fame? Okay. He is. Yeah. Watch, make sure. Luke Jones, well, they didn’t do it right away. Lou Jones is here. He’s Baltimore. Luke, I want to come back and I want to do crowd because, by the way, here, here’s a little tip. This will be a little bleeder for the next segment, the attendance that day. Luke, how many people were at Game Six of the 1997 ALCS? How many? What’s the what was it? I am going to. Yes,

Luke Jones  30:01

I am going to guess, because that was at a point where they would put up bleachers above the out of town scoreboard. There’s such

a young standing, 14 year old, and they would have,

Luke Jones  30:12

and they had the bleachers that they would put up not as bit. No, the Raptors weren’t quite as big, but they put those up beyond the bullpens. I want to say it was 4849

Nestor Aparicio  30:24

075, probably the biggest crowd in the history. Camden Yards. It was cut, right? Probably, yeah, and there were not 49,000 there the other we’re gonna talk about the crowd. We’re gonna talk about ticket prices, we’re gonna talk about interest. We’re gonna talk about my dear David Rubenstein, letter that I hope everybody out there goes and reads because Luke isn’t allowed at the ballpark, and I’m not I am being discriminated against. So I have used the definition of what discrimination is, picking one thing over another thing that is being discriminate why they allow Luke to get in? I don’t know. They’ve never really answered that, except he’s a nicer guy, and you all know that already. Your mother knows that Luke, my wife knows you’re nicer than me. Everybody knows you’re nicer than me. That has nothing to do with giving press credentials. So Luke will be at the ballpark today. I’ll be watching on TV. We have no coverage of the Ravens because they’ve also not allowed me to come in, even though I own the place, and this is what I’ve done for a living for 40 years. But you can take that up with them. I’ve taken a letter out. Tickets are dirt cheap today. If you want to come down to the ballpark. There’s plenty of good seats available as and there really are a lot of good seats available as we sit here a couple hours before game time. Evelyn today, playing for the season. Luke will be down at the ballpark. I’m Nestor. He’s Luke. We’re going to be a pizza Johns next Friday. Come on out. Get a lottery ticket from the Maryland lottery to friends of Jiffy Lube powering Luke up.
