8

Dan Marino  00:16

here. Yeah, gotcha now. Yeah, you’re kind of shutting me out there. I gotta get over here and you’re gonna shut me out. No,

Nestor Aparicio  00:22

well, come on you shut us out before

Dan Marino  00:26

There you go. This guy’s

Nestor Aparicio  00:27

here for Nutrisystem. So we’re gonna talk some football here. I’ve seen you on the television talking about

Dan Marino  00:36

we’ve been I’ve been working for Nutrisystem for you know, over a decade, and Monday is the biggest decision day for men and dieting. So women is different women New Years, right, their decisions, but men gotta get through the playoffs. They’re gonna get through to college, you know, and then they make their decision to go on a diet.

Nestor Aparicio  00:56

You think he’s stopping cheese steaks in the middle of this run? No,

Dan Marino  00:59

Monday, no chance, they’re gonna wait till Monday to be doing it. This is a new program they have it’s neutral pro shakes, you can lose up to 18 pounds in a month. Like I said, I’ve been working with them for a while. The biggest thing is it’s I lost 22 pounds. We also use their bars and shakes and it’s good. So try it out. Man. It’s for you. You try it out. You got when you

8

Nestor Aparicio  01:20

were playing ball omega c, you know, you had it going on that then the career ends. And I guess maybe you think of something like this is a fad diet or this or that then then you get educated about it. So no years later.

Dan Marino  01:31

Exactly. And then I’ve had a lot of friends that have done it. And it affects your life in a positive way. Because not only you lose weight, you look better. You feel better. Everybody in your family feels better by you feeling better, of course. So that’s, you know, that’s a big deal. You think

Nestor Aparicio  01:43

I need more energy? No. There you go. Well, they said in a word.

Dan Marino  01:48

8

Yeah, yeah. But there’s there’s some extra energy in these things. So I

Nestor Aparicio  01:52

was gonna say you don’t know me at all, but you do. The game itself. And you know, obviously, your background and the Super Bowl and all that. So this this guy, he just keeps coming to Super Bowls. I mean, for any of you who’ve ever done this for a living, all of you must marvel at this.

Dan Marino  02:08

There’s no doubt because, you know, and I always say to it’s, it’s Tom and what he’s been able to do. But also it’s the continuity between the quarterback and head coach, and that constant. You know, that combination of having a great coach and a great quarterback. That gives Yes, I did Coach Shula, and a lot of other people. Peyton Manning had it with Tony Dungy, and there was other guys that have had it over the years. And Coach, you will have to agree see you there for a while. So that’s part of it, because other things change with those two guys stay the same. And what he’s been able to do as amazing. Yeah, it’s been amazing to see the best of all time. So why would you say that? I mean, because he’s already, you know, was the one I don’t even know. He’s when

Nestor Aparicio  02:51

we were kind of the Steelers, how many they

8

Dan Marino  02:54

want? Yeah, yeah, no, it’s five. Yeah, I mean, because of that, I guess you’d have to say that, I mean, there’s so many great players are playing that position. But the one thing you always get the respect no matter what, because I know how hard it is to play in a position to play at a high level for a long time. And he’s been able to do that. And that’s, that’s what’s pretty special about him.

Nestor Aparicio  03:14

I want to ask you, I’ve never talked about this, but the executive thing and when a guy like Elway in Baltimore, we got Ozzy. And at one point, you were thinking about leaning in that direction. And that’s all you know, with that’s all out on the internet, you can read all that. But for a guy like Ozzy to have been the only guy for 22 years, the amount of dedication the people that do the football thing for a living it and to be doing it this long, even Bella check the fact that he wants to lock himself in a cave and try to do it a sixth time or an eighth time or whatever. But well, that’s a special individual.

Dan Marino  03:44

That’s passion that’s loving what you do that’s about competing and enjoying the moment and, and in effect, and, you know, fact that people’s lives as far as like some of the coaches that have come up through the ranks with him, you know, and honestly the same way like the players consider I did and actually I do do work with the team now I do I do I work as an advisor for the team. So I’m not like a general manager or whatever, but I’m there a lot and I spent some time there but I do get what you’re saying Ozzy is awesome. And I’ve known Ozzy a long time I played pro bowls with Ozzy and you know what he’s been able to do over the years and and it’s a dedication that’s special and he has it

Luke Jones  04:23

beyond Brady who’s your favorite quarterback to watch today

Dan Marino  04:26

to watch today? Yeah, you know always enjoyed Aaron Rodgers and how he plays the game he throws the football big arm you know that kind of thing and and moves around. Well, you can make all the throws Yeah, he’s fun to watch Drew Brees is fun to watch. You know, so I mean, pretty much the you know, the regular customers. Ben Roethlisberger. You know that that group? Yes. Where are you

Luke Jones  04:50

with Flacco at this point? I mean, it’s a hot button topic. I mean, five years ago, we know what he did in the Superbowl. Since then, statistically, you know, any other way you want slice of it. It hasn’t worked as well. 33 Now,

Dan Marino  05:03

I mean, yeah, he’s wonderful. He’s has He has plenty ability to continue throughout his career and when those Super Bowl, I believe that, you know, and I guarantee you that the, that Ozzy to Baltimore Ravens and hardwater. They all think that to and that’s why he’s there. And it’s why the game, you know, a big contract and, and sometimes there’s up and down years, but I’ve always respected him as a player.

8

Nestor Aparicio  05:27

We have Woodstock back in the day, I don’t know, we call this whence foals or whatever this would be here, it coming here saying Nick Foles up on the, you know, in this game as a backup quarterback and a guy who waited his turn and play well, a couple years ago, what he’s done here last couple of weeks. I mean, the opportunity coming here

Dan Marino  05:45

has been impressive. And I think that Doug Pierce is probably telling them just hey, you know, we probably went should be playing would be to start his game he didn’t get hurt. So this is an opportunity for him to show that he can win a Super Bowl and be part of something special for Philadelphia Eagles and go down in history as the quarterback that stepped in and, you know, help Philly win a Super Bowl. So I mean, I’m sure he’s relishing this chance and you got to do the things he needs to do to take care of business there. But he’s played well. The last you know, three weeks and the things he’s been able to accomplish has been pretty strong

Nestor Aparicio  06:15

Saturday night, big night in Baltimore gold jacket for re joining that club. Any question about Ray Lewis? No, no, no, no. He’s a Hall of Famer for sure what his wide receivers get talked about a lot though, right. To Randy Moss. Yeah,

Dan Marino  06:28

8

well, I mean there’s a lot there’s a lot of Yeah, I don’t know I don’t know who’s getting it. I don’t have I don’t have a vote but a lot of those guys walking in Nutrisystem. Anybody take need energy you need to get pulse

Nestor Aparicio  06:42

packets. What am I gonna use next week? So we’ll send you some All right, there you go. Dan Marino

Dan Marino  06:47

Nestor Aparicio  06:50

Nestor Aparicio  07:09

What’s wrong with this picture? We had jaw balls

Luke Jones  07:13

I mean, it’s just silly and buffalo that’s how I know I’m saying in general, I’m not talking about Pittsburgh, just in general the number of great either Hall a very good or Hall of Fame quarterbacks who’ve sat down with us it’s it’s pretty cool. Brett
