Luke Jones offers his latest purple musings after Baltimore’s new head coach was introduced.
The Baltimore Ravens made former assistant Jesse Minter the new head coach of the operation in Owings Mills on Thursday afternoon. Luke Jones and Nestor discuss the decision to stay very rooted in the Harbaugh tree by hiring a defensive coordinator who Lamar Jackson is familiar with from three seasons together here. Is this big change – or just a continuation of the same program with a freshly minted face?

In a conversation about leadership styles and the tone set by Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti this week, Bill Cole and Nestor take a 30-year view on the franchise and its responsibility to the community. Will a new head coach change the culture in Owings Mills? Will Lamar Jackson win a Super Bowl? There’s plenty of interest in the local NFL franchise as it transitions from two decades of John Harbaugh to whatever is next…

Closing the Loop, it’s hard to Tuck away the kick of karma and rub (and tug) of being wide wrong on John Harbaugh. Nestor Aparicio inks a personal letter #ColumnNes to the Baltimore Ravens owner with tough questions and harder answers about accountability, integrity, bullying and leadership moving forward as the search for the next head coach begins in Owings Mills.
As the news leaks out from Owings Mills and the fallout of the divorce of Steve Bisciotti and John Harbaugh becomes more clear – and even two national reporters had two wildly different stories about the roles of Lamar Jackson and Todd Monken – Luke Jones and Nestor assess the reality of the Baltimore Ravens’ needs as the owner emerges from the shadows and the former coach has become the hottest head coaching candidate in NFL history. The Baltimore Ravens and owner Steve Bisciotti are not lacking qualified candidates to be the next coach in Owings Mills. It all happened so suddenly on Tuesday that we needed some time to fully digest the first coaching change since Luke Jones joined our Baltimore Ravens beat in 2009. He joins Nestor to discuss all of the Owings Mills drama in the John Harbaugh firing fallout and who owner Steve Bisciotti will hire as next the head coach of the franchise.

There is about to be a culture change in Owings Mills. Or is there? Luke Jones and Nestor discuss the firing of John Harbaugh and what Steve Bisciotti will do next for a head coach and a leader and face of the franchise. What this means for the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh privately vowed to help Nestor Aparicio with his media credential bullying situation with Chad Steele in any way he could. Weeks later, Aparicio was exterminated. Harbaugh then told him he was unhappy about it but powerless because it wasn’t his department in Owings Mills.
“What did do you do wrong, Nestor?” “Why would the Ravens throw you out?” “Why are you the only one in the local media whom they’ve thrown out?” “Why have they treated you this way?” “WHAT DID YOU DO WRONG!?!” I am fed up with these questions from Baltimore sports fans so I wrote to the owner because these questions are his to answer. Letters to John Harbaugh and Eric DeCosta are also coming soon.
Our Luke Jones attended the Monday practice in Owings Mills that Lamar Jackson missed. We sounded the alarm on him not playing on Tuesday morning. Turns out, he’s not playing. Now, the Baltimore Ravens have two games in four days next week and we’re reading the purple tea leaves about the desperation of a 1-5 football team on the edge of disaster.
Sure, Lamar Jackson was back on the field in a “limited” role on Wednesday in Owings Mills. That’s a great sign. But, as Luke Jones and Nestor discuss the return of No. 8 to the practice field, no one is sure what two hours of football on Sunday against the Bears and Thursday night in Miami is going to look like in the speed of the NFL on the field.

Our Luke Jones attended the Monday practice in Owings Mills that Lamar Jackson missed. Does this sound the alarm about his hamstring injury? Or is it just another day of rest? Either way, the Baltimore Ravens have two games in four days next week and we’re reading the purple tea leaves about the desperation of a 1-5 football team on the edge of disaster.
Lamar. Roquan. Hamilton. Humphrey. We’re still (mostly) buying that the Baltimore Ravens can climb back into the AFC playoff picture if they can get their best players back on the field against a weak upcoming schedule. Luke Jones and Nestor discuss the many bye week issues and concerns for head coach John Harbaugh and the last place Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh indicated that the future of the kicking position in Baltimore would be based on football, not the NFL investigation into the 16 women who have alleged improprieties during massage sessions with Justin Tucker.
