As the tributes flood in from all over the country about the life and times of No. 41, Nestor tells a story about the time Tom Matte gave him his cell phone number.

“Here is a gem story about the late, great Tom Matte that I need to tell in the aftermath of his incredible life. When my place was the only sports radio station in Baltimore, fans would call (and more often than you think) about a loved one and old Colts fan on their deathbed somewhere in town. We always called Lenny Moore and Spats would, literally, drive over to their house and sit bedside for hours with a dying fan. One time, at the Ravens front desk in Owings Mills, Tom Matte saw me and called me over to say that Lenny asked him to go when we called the previous week because of an obligation. Matte then filled my ears about the significance of role and absolutely insisted that I put his cell phone number into my phone and into the rotation of duty. Told me to call him anytime and did it with force. And I did on several occasions! I love the old Baltimore I knew. Tom Matte was a gem of a guy! All of those old Colts were such special people…”
