Known as the birth of “Orioles Magic,” this Friday night game set off a summer of love between Baltimore and its baseball team. Down 5-2 early in the game, the Orioles couldn’t muster any offense vs. Tigers reliever Kip Young but it was Doug DeCinces walk-off, three-run home run off Dave Tobik in the ninth for a 6-5 win that every fan of the era will always remember.
