A man will always love a chocolate chip cookie from his childhood. Behold the cookie that keeps us coming back to Bel Air Road and buying ’em fresh whenever we can. And that’s the way the cookie crumbles…

Nestor Aparicio discusses his love for the Woodlea Bakery’s chocolate chip cookies, which he considers one of his top 10 favorite items. He reminisces about his childhood neighbor, Miss Barb, who made similar cookies. Nestor describes the cookies as having a dark chocolate and buttery flavor, possibly with brown butter. He enjoys them with his morning coffee, often eating them in a bowl to avoid making a mess. Nestor is currently on a 27-day countdown of his favorite foods, sponsored by Curio Wellness, to celebrate his radio show’s 27th anniversary. He mentions that he stays skinny by only eating one cookie a day for six days.

It’s not becoming this place. My whole life. This is the Woodley bakery. I’m on Bel Air road across what used to be the hacienda, but now is just the Woodley bakery, and it’s all about the chocolate chip cookies. Here you so through life’s highway, you meet all sorts of people. My dude, Randy Merkin, who was a sports producer out in Chicago, Illinois, when I was at the Sporting News Radio, does a segment called that’s the way the cookie crumbles. This is a cookie that crumbles that I love this is the Woodley bakery chocolate chip cookie. Probably the reason I love it so much is my next door neighbor, Miss Barb, used to make me cookies when I was a little boy over in Dundalk and Colgate, and they were exactly this recipe. And I don’t even know what it is. It’s some sort of dark chocolate, buttery, some brown butter concoction. But they are absolutely delicious. They’re top 10 all time. Item for me. I have them with my coffee in the mornings, and they do crumble. They make kind of a mess. If you look, you know, see a little well. So I usually eat them in a bowl, so I’ll make a mess. But we are doing our countdown. It’s all brought to you by curio wellness. I’ve actually worn the curio shirt. Big appreciation to the folks at foreign daughter for putting us out on the road. It’s our 27th anniversary. We’re having fun. Football’s kicking off, and showing you kind of my favorite things to eat, because people always ask me, beyond crab cakes, where’s a place to eat? What do you love to eat? I’m giving you 27 ideas, and some of them are as simple as the delight of a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast. I only got six of them. People say, how do you stay skinny? Because I don’t eat six at a time. I eat one a morning for six days. Just the truth. My thanks to Woodley bakery. Also up in Bel Air, keeping it real.
