No. 6 Cal Ripken (Aberdeen 1978) – Cal was a pitcher at Aberdeen, posting a 7-2 mark with 0.70 ERA and 100 strikeouts in 60 innings of work leading the Eagles to a Class A state title. He also hit .492. In the championship, Ripken struck out 17, allowed two hits and threw a complete game. Ripken was also all-county as a soccer player but did all of the work that made him famous on the baseball diamond.
